Siemens Mobility is seeking a highly motivated Technical Manager to join our dynamic team and work at the forefront of new propulsion technology for mainline rail vehicles. As the Technical Manager for one of our Hydrogen Vehicles, you will play a critical role in overseeing the technical aspects of the design, development, and production of one of our most future-oriented vehicle projects. This position requires a deep understanding of hydrogen fuel cell technology, propulsion systems, vehicle integration engineering, and project management.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the engineering team responsible for the design and development of a hydrogen-powered vehicle, ensuring adherence to project timelines and specifications in alignment with Siemens Mobility's standards.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional international teams, including other engineering entities, production, and supply chain, to drive product development and ensure seamless integration of hydrogen fuel cell technology. You will in particular interface with North American teams at the West Coast, therefore collaborating across multiple time zones.

  • Coordinate with external partners, suppliers, and regulatory bodies to ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations, while reflecting Siemens Mobility's commitment to quality and safety.

  • Monitor and manage project budgets, resources, and timelines to ensure successful project delivery, adhering to Siemens Mobility's project management practices.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field. A master's degree is preferred.

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in rail engineering or a related field, preferably with a focus on hydrogen fuel cell technology and/or propulsion systems.

  • knowledge of hydrogen fuel cell technology, including system design, integration, and performance optimization.

  • Proven experience in project management, leading international cross-functional teams, and delivering projects on time and within budget.

  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively in English language with internal and external stakeholders. German language skills are a plus. Willingness to travel internationally, in particular in Europe and the United States.

  • Strong leadership abilities, with a track record of managing and motivating a technical team while embodying our values and culture.

  • Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and resolve technical issues in a fast-paced environment, consistent with Siemens Mobility's commitment to quality and efficiency.

  • Familiarity with relevant industry standards and regulations, such as ISO and safety certifications, in accordance with Siemens Mobility's guidelines.

The gross annual payment for this job vacancy is at least EUR 59.000,00 (full-time). Siemens as an international company offers additional social benefits.
