Job Description
Job Title: Forklift Operator Department: Production/Warehouse
Reports to: General Manager
Shift: Monday through Friday, 7:30am - 4:30pm, Saturdays and overtime as deemed necessary.
Job Summary: The forklift operator is responsible for the safe and efficient movement and storage of finished goods and raw materials. This position plays an important role in supporting the production lines by either supplying products and raw materials to the production lines or by removing the finished product from the lines. Operators goals are to ensure that materials and products will always be in the right place to achieve maximum efficiency while operating in a safe manner. When production lines are stocked with raw materials and there is no finished product to move, the forklift operator works within the team, as a member, carrying out the same roles but with the additional forklift operators responsibilities.

Duties/Responsibilities:
Supply products and raw materials to production lines.
Remove the finished product from the production lines and place in the proper storage area.
Working with the Production Manager and line leads to ensure timely production of products by customer specification.
Perform daily pre-operational forklift checks and keep records.
Accurately complete production activity logs.
Routinely check product to ensure accurate labeling, and general aesthetic; communicate and correct any nonconformance issues with help from involved team leaders and Production Manager.
Perform additional tasks as assigned by Production Manager such as sorting bulk/seconds, assisting production, moving packing materials on racking, etc.
Monitor and take necessary action to ensure that safe work conditions exist and safety rules and guidelines are followed and/or enforced.
Assist in shipping and receiving as needed.
Assist in creating a safe working environment by attending and engaging in regular meetings regarding safety and the facilities SOP, and by modeling safe behaviors.
Maintain and clean your assigned forklift as needed.
Additional duties as assigned.

Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines. Ability to prioritize tasks. Ability to function well in a high-paced and at times stressful environment.
Education and Experience: High School Diploma or Equivalent. At least two years related experience required. Forklift Certification required/maintained, provided by company.
Physical Requirements: Prolonged periods of sitting on Forklift. Must be able to lift up to 50-75 pounds at times. Strength and stamina: certain positions require production team members to routinely pick up and move heavy objects.
