Role Value Proposition:

We’re looking for an experienced professional to join us as a key member of our Regional IT Infrastructure Team. Working with and supporting the Regional Data Centre Operations Manager the successful candidate will be involved in the development, implementation, and maintenance of comprehensive disaster recovery plans to minimize the impact of IT outages on the organization's operations. You will collaborate with various IT and business teams to identify potential risks, assess the criticality of systems and applications, and conduct disaster recovery testing for MetLife EMEA datacenters in line with MetLife’s global resilience policies and procedures.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Act as a key point of contact for datacenter recovery during IT emergencies and disasters

  • Assume management role in developing, coordinating, and maintaining comprehensive data center recovery plans in line with MetLife’s standards and Global Resilience requirements.

  • Work with the IT technical staff to ensure that disaster recovery solutions are adequate, in place, maintained, and tested as part of the regular operational life cycle.

  • Develop and understand all testing requirements for a successful DR execution.

  • Co-ordinate and conduct all stages of Disaster Recovery testing as described below:

  • Test Planning – Work with In-Country and regional stakeholders across EMEA to establish an annual timeline for testing all in-scope applications that are hosted in the EMEA datacenters.

  • Work with Regional and Global IT teams to prepare the testing environment and coordinate with MetLife and 3 rd party teams to ensure all in-scope applications are ready for testing.

  • Conduct weekly status meetings with Local and regional teams and ensure all required changes have been raised and approved pre-test.

  • Testing – Setup and operate the command center for DR testing. Coordinate the resolution of any issues encountered with relevant parties and ensure all key stakeholders are provided with status updates as the test progresses. Ensure all testing results and lessons learned are captured.

  • Post Test – Facilitate summary meetings to review all results and lessons learned and ensure the information has been have been captured to MetLife required standards. Arrange follow up meetings to ensure all issues and lessons learned are tracked to conclusion in line with MetLife policies.

  • Perform periodic audits of existing Disaster Recovery Plans and report to management on any improvements that need to be made.

  • Provide project leadership between the technology groups and other company business units, emphasizing regular direct communication with application support management.

  • Provide ongoing feedback for risk management, mitigation, and prevention.

Essential Business Experience and Technical Skills:

Required:

  • A bachelor’s degree or higher in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related IT certification is required.

  • 5+ years of experience in IT operations implementing and supporting IT infrastructure in a data centre environment that includes the Azure cloud platform.

  • Must have 2+ years of experience dedicated to disaster recovery operations and management in the financial or other similar industry.

  • Understanding of current recovery solutions, high availability architectures is needed, as is knowledge of IT network principles.

  • Require excellent oral and written communication skills to convey plans, exercises, and activities. Must be able to interact with technical, non-technical, and management staff.

  • Familiarity with business continuity program life cycle plans and source deliverables (e.g., risk assessments, technology / business impact assessments, continuity planning) is essential.

  • Personable, conscientious, ability to cope with pressure, prioritize work appropriately and manage multiple priorities.

Preferred:

  • Knowledge of the ServiceNow IT Service Management toolset

  • Knowledge of Fusion Risk Management tool

  • Knowledge of replication and recovery technologies (Zerto, SRDF, Rubrik)

  • Knowledge of EMEA resiliency regulations (e.g DORA, CP140, etc)
