Emerson Digital Sales Engineer in Japan

Job Summary

The Digital Sales Engineer will engage with our customers though digital and remote sales tools to achieve the agreed sales targets. This role will be responsible for the interaction with customers that do not require periodic face to face contact or prefer to interact through coordinated digital platforms.

In This Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be

  • Leads sales enquiries from the assigned customers in a timely manner. This includes reviewing customers enquiry for application requirements, creation of opportunities in CRM, working with inside sales organization in preparation of offers, securing price approvals from the relevant authorities in the organization, responding to customers with offer, and negotiating price and terms & conditions that are favorable to Emerson.

  • Achievement of Orders targets for the Measurement Solutions Portfolio within the agreed segment of client through online interactions.

  • Be responsible for bookings forecast for the segment and ensure monthly delivery of the volume dedication

  • Proactively work with customers to increase digital integration. Specially, to actively move all accounts that may place unsolicited orders or RFQs into a digital self-service platform. Be proficient in the benefits of digital integration and articulate a clear action plan for implementation.

  • Act as single human point of contact to secure customer satisfaction during and after the transition. Provide pre- and post-sales support and regular follow-up.

  • Acts as the contact for receiving customer queries and issues and work with the relevant functions within the organization to bring them to satisfactory conclusion.

  • Engage with customers through digital sales tools (including Teams and Phones) to assist customers in product selection, application support, access to expertise and placement of orders.

  • Understand in full Emerson’s outstanding selling propositions and actively contextualize them to the customer industry needs to enhance business

  • Supervise tools and CRM for leads. Proactively act on leads to convert potential business in respective segments.

  • Understand and use available data analytics and reports to optimize account growth strategies, including whitespace analysis, pricing actions and customer segmentation

  • Drive the prospecting processes leveraging various channels (My Emerson, CRM, email, phone, LinkedIn, other digital platforms), identify and collaborate to develop new LEADS at existing and new customers, markets and geographies.

  • Keep track and communicate customer activities to the wider organization through CRM

  • Proactively recode and share success cases, customer feedback and quantifiable business results in the assigned customer segment.

  • Maintains awareness of customer trends, trade development, and competitive activity and share with the sales and marketing teams.

  • Monitor and understand the competitive environment at each account and work to displace competition and defend Emerson’s position

  • Actively coordinate with colleagues and orchestrate the support of subject matter authorities, Product Marketing, or other company team members to build a compelling and differentiating value proposition for the selected customers

  • Support the deployment of new tools and engagement platforms as new technologies become available.

  • Provide mentorship and feedback to the organization for the improvement and development of new digital interaction tools.

  • Observe the Business Ethics standards stipulated by Emerson.

  • Stay informed and proactively request training on the entire MSOL portfolio, rapidly adopting new technologies and incorporating new product launches in the sales strategy

  • Understand the overall Emerson strategy and vision

  • Observe market and competitor related events and provide inputs and suggestions to business development processes

  • Maintain active social media presence in accordance with Emerson’s marketing guidelines

Who You Are

Involve engagement with customer request and actively encourage the transition towards digital integration, self-servicing, and digital interactions in collaboration with the e-commerce managers and other relevant team members.

For This Role, You Will Need

  • Proven experience selling technologies to customers in the relevant industry

  • Basic IT skills

  • Experience in engaging customers needs through online platforms and driving e-commerce plans

  • Eye for business and understanding of commercial contracts

  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
