Overview

This position will be physically located in Kuwait in support of LOGCAP

Serves as the Allied Trades Lead under the supervision of the Allied Trades Supervisor and oversees the day-to-day operation of the welding, fabrication, machining, auto body shop, container repair team, and equipment paint shop. Supervises anywhere from 20 to 50 personnel. This is a working Lead position. Ensures established policies and procedures are enforced effectively. Controls shop maintenance schedule to ensure maximum use of assigned personnel.

Responsibilities

This position description is subject to change at any time as needed to meet the requirements of the program or company.

  • Oversees the day-to-day operation of the welding, fabrication, machining, auto body shop, container repair team, and equipment paint shop.

  • Supervises anywhere from 10 to 20 personnel. This is a working Lead position.

  • Ensures established policies and procedures are enforced effectively.

  • Controls shop maintenance schedule to ensure maximum use of assigned personnel.

  • Perform the duties of the Allied Trade Supervisor in their absence.

  • Performs other duties and assignments as required for LCV Mission.

Qualifications

  • Minimum Qualifications: Education/Certifications: One year related experience may be substituted for one year of education, if degree is required.

  • High school diploma/equivalent

  • Must be registered, licensed, or certified by a state or local authority.

  • Must be qualified by an organization listed by a nationally recognized testing laboratory for the servicing of fire alarm systems.

  • Ability to obtain host nation driver license

  • Must be CAC eligible and/or ability to obtain a CAC

  • Experience:

  • Minimum of six (6) years of experience as a welder at the journeyman level, plus experience in body repair and painting.

  • Minimum five (5) years of supervisory experience.

  • Certification:

  • Welder's Certification

  • Must have a Driver's License. Preferably a CDL

  • Skills:

  • Possesses excellent interpersonal skills; must be customer-oriented and diverse.

  • Ability to work effectively with employees and management of all levels to include multi-national staff, superiors, and ranking military officers and non-commissioned officers.

  • Ability to handle confidential company and employee information with complete discretion.

  • Highly proficient in English, both verbally and written; and shop mathematics.

  • Basic proficiency in Word, Excel, and Outlook applications.

  • High-level organization and planning skills so workflow is managed efficiently and accurately.

  • Ability to read, analyzes, understand and interprets blueprints, schematics, wiring diagrams, reports technical publications and documents.

  • Ability to design, plan and execute fabrication projects.

  • Ability to obtain and maintain AWS/CWI Certification.

  • Knowledge of Welding/Fabrication requirements for United States Government equipment.

  • Knowledgeable of the Army Maintenance Management Principles and Standards.

  • Knowledgeable of physical security of government issued equipment.

  • Ability to prepare reports and brief daily operations.

  • Ability to lead and perform at a high level in a stressful demanding environment.

  • Supervisory Skills

  • Ability to collaborate a work style fosters cooperation and teamwork.

  • Supervises anywhere between 20 to 50 personnel. This is a working Lead position.

  • Working Conditions:

  • Must be capable of working in an extreme weather conditions with temperatures exceeding 120 degrees Fahrenheit. Indoor and/or outdoor environment with very adverse and harsh conditions (i.e., hot, dry, duty, desert environment with average temperatures of 30 degrees in the winter and 130 degrees in the summer months). Includes some industrial production environment conditions as well.

  • Physical Requirements:

  • Light work. Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.

  • Work may require heavy lifting, stooping, climbing, prolonged standing, prolonged sitting, and working with or in areas where a potential could exist for exposure to physical, chemical, or biological agents. Employee use of personal protective equipment (PPE) is required for some situations. PPE includes, but is not limited to, head, foot, torso, respiratory, vision, and hearing protective devices.
