Ford Motor Company GVT Purchaser in Mexico

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Global Vendor Tooling Buyer to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for developing and managing a world-class supply base for tooling, ensuring it meets the quality, cost, and timing objectives of our Vehicle Operations and Manufacturing Operations product programs. You will play a critical role in ensuring our long-term partner suppliers are capable of meeting our expectations in terms of quality, cost, timing, and technology.

  • Develop a world class supply base capable of delivering the quality, cost and timing objectives of Vehicle Operations and Manufacturing Operations product programs.

  • Ensure long term partner suppliers are capable of meeting quality, cost, timing and technology expectations.

  • Execute commodity sourcing strategies, support vehicle launches and monitor suppliers' capacity and supervise capacity studies

  • Drive the process to eliminate waste in the value chain using Lean Deployment, Total Cost Management, Quality Operating Systems, etc.

Competencies Must

  • Strong communication skills in English (both written and verbal)

  • Skill in managing cross-functional issues / relationships

  • Strong analytical skills

Competencies Desired

  • Prior Purchasing experience (2-3 years)

  • Tooling Experience (Design, Manufacturing and Procurement)

  • Knowledge on Stamping and manufacturing processes involving sheet metal or injection molding

  • Experience on automotive components

  • Experience working with global teams and different cultures

  • Some working knowledge of tool and die industry

  • Understand manufacturing and purchase of tooling or processes
