Job Summary
Under immediate supervision, is responsible for supporting the Plan Review Intake team by coordinating administrative processes for the team. Performs preliminary review of plans and monitors the plan review process. May exercise functional supervision over assigned staff.

Essential Job Functions
Answers inquiries regarding development services and works with customer to resolve permit-related issues.
Receives development related applications and commercial plans.
Reviews applications and plans for completeness to ensure documents meet requirements and are available for team review.
Monitors plans to ensure timely review.
Logs submitted plans, requests, fees, meetings, and partial permits.
Coordinates office supply orders, plan review and processing, expedition of requests, and application processing.
Schedules post-review meetings as necessary.
Develops standards, procedures, and reports to ensure plans are reviewed properly and timely.
Assists in training other Plan Review Intake team members.
Performs related duties and fulfills responsibilities as required.

Unless otherwise stated, applicants are permitted to substitute two years of related full-time experience for one year of higher education or one year of related higher education for two years of experience in order to meet the minimum requirements of the job. One year of full-time experience is defined as 30 or more hours worked per week for 12 months. One year of higher education is defined as 30 credit hours completed at an accredited college or university.
Applicants selected for employment with the City of San Antonio in this position must receive satisfactory results from pre-employment drug testing and background checks. If required for the position, a physical, motor vehicle record evaluation, and additional background checks may be conducted.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Knowledge of ordinances, City Codes, and International Building Codes
Knowledge of building, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and zoning codes in relation to building inspections and to City ordinances
Knowledge of flood plans, historical, and other codes in relation to position of plans coordinator
Knowledge of budget preparation and administration
Knowledge of organizational management and workflow theories and techniques
Skill in utilizing a computer keyboard and other basic office equipment
Skill in evaluating processes for improvement
Ability to use interpersonal and analytical skills to confer with professional Engineers and Architects
Ability to evaluate complaints and submit reports to the Director or Assistant Director
Ability to evaluate daily up-to-date status reports to ensure all prerequisites are met on construction plans
Ability to perform within the department personnel investigations as assigned by the Director or Assistant Director
Ability to distribute report to Plan Examiners, Director, and/or Assistant Director
Ability to handle assignments with utmost integrity and discreteness
Ability to establish and maintain an effective working relationship with co-workers, supervisors, and the general public
Ability to perform all the physical requirements of the position, with or without accommodations
Working conditions are primarily in an office environment
