Job Description

Purpose:

Texas A&M Engineering is seeking a full-time Postdoctoral Researcher to join the Ultrasound Imaging Research Laboratory. The Postdoctoral Researcher will work closely with faculty and staff on the development and use of novel ultrasound technologies that can help improve detection, management, and treatment options for diseases like cancer. The Postdoctoral Researcher will be expected to present and publish research findings, teach basic science and clinical trainees, participate in laboratory management duties, and perform other duties as assigned.

Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with faculty and staff on the development and use of novel ultrasound technologies that can help improve detection, management, and treatment options for diseases like cancer.

What we need:

  • Doctoral degree

What is helpful:

  • Experience with the use and development of ultrasound imaging techniques (contrast-enhanced, super-resolution, tissue characterization, etc.).

  • Demonstrated experience in physical or life sciences with a strong interest in interdisciplinary research involving medical imaging (photoacoustic, ultrasound, optical) and AI.

  • Experience with applying statistical methods and algorithms to structured data sets, as well as using software for data maintenance, visualization, and analysis.

  • Experience in teaching or mentoring students either in a classroom or research setting, particularly related to engineering or physics.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Skilled in computational modeling, machine learning, signal/image processing, and using MATLAB or similar programming software.
