Job Title:Preschool Lead Teacher

FLSA Status: full time, non-exempt

Y Job Grade 6

Wage: 18.49 - $22.00/hr, depends on experience

Department: YMCA Learning Center

Reports to: Learning Center Director

Probation: Subject to a 12-month introductory (probationary) period

POSITION SUMMARY: The Greater Missoula Family YMCA Learning Center is hiring a team oriented, dependable, loving and compassionate lead teacher who loves to engage and have fun with children age 3-4 in a quality care learning environment. The Lead Teacher is responsible for organizing and leading daily activities of pre-kindergarten children. They oversee the program curriculum and environment, providing a high quality, developmentally appropriate experience to meet the needs of the children and families in the program. We are hiring a lead teacher with either: two years’ experience in licensed childcare; a degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development or Psychology with coursework in child development; or a CDA. Applicants must be able to thrive in an environment with the unique challenges of a non-profit community service organization and work with limited supervision.

Requirements

Education/Certification

Required – Either two years’ experience in a licensed facility, or a degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development or Psychology with coursework in child development, or a CDA

Required – Must have current CPR and First Aid or obtain within first 30 days of employment

Experience - 1-2 years child care experience or working with children preferred
