The Information Technology (IT) department plays a pivotal role in accelerating Daktronics success by leading the company on a digital transformation journey.  In this transformation, IT collaboratively partners with stakeholders to gain insights into their work, challenges, and needs to deliver digital solutions and keep solutions performing well. These solutions enable automation, delight users, and equip users to perform more value-add activities.   

We are currently seeking a Project Manager to join our IT team. Your focus will be on collaborating with our internal customers. This team typically focuses on a variety of responsibilities in support of our projects and IT agile development teams.  You would be empowered to lead cross-functional teams to release solutions on-time to our stakeholders to improve processes and add value across the enterprise.

This role requires strong collaboration skills to work across functional teams, contribute to the project, and guide the outputs from all teams toward a targeted outcome. Another key aspect is to escalate risks that could hinder project success and manage interdependencies between projects.

As a project manager in our Information Technology team, you will be asked to:

  • Lead company-wide initiatives to orchestrate the delivery of objectives and continuously release value through all layers of the organization.

  • Work across teams to understand the complexity and tell the story to help stakeholders drive the activities required for success.

  • Collaborate with project team members and cross-functional stakeholders to clearly identify the objectives, the work needed to achieve project success, develop a plan, and ensure that activities are carried out as planned.

  • Recognize potential risks and work with stakeholders to assess criticality, prioritize, and develop action plans to overcome these challenges.

  • Effectively manage project scope, timelines, and propose changes as needed.

  • Communicate clearly and consistently to a wide-ranging audience to keep stakeholders informed of project status, using visuals whenever possible.

  • Utilize industry practices for Project Management, especially practices for large, Agile projects, and help to continuously improve standard practices to be used broadly at Daktronics.

  • Organize people and manage project scope, timeline, and budget.

  • Lead and contribute to an Agile/Scrum team.

  • Collaborate with various stakeholder groups who have unique perspectives, including Daktronics company leadership.

  • Negotiate scope, budget, and timeline trade-offs, and engage stakeholders to build consensus on the path forward.

  • Lead continuous improvement of business processes through effective change enablement.

    Where will I be working?

    Daktronics offers the flexibility to work from a U.S. home or Daktronics location. This opportunity is open to U.S. based candidates. Exact working hours are flexible, but this position will typically be based on working during regular business hours in the Central time zone.

    Qualifications

    A bachelor’s degree is required in a business or technical field. You will also need to demonstrate experience in the areas listed below:

  • Experience in leading large, multi-year efforts in an Agile development environment.

  • Excellent interpersonal skills, including ability to communicate with stakeholders in various areas of the organization and both technical and non-technical partners to understand requirements and priorities.

  • Experience in collaborating with stakeholders to identify options and trade-offs to build consensus on the plan.

  • Demonstrated ability to lead a project with a large cross-functional team to successful completion.

  • Continued willingness and desire to learn and be flexible with an evolving workload. ​

  • Strong self-motivation and ability to work independently or collaboratively on a team.

  • Ability to present ideas to a broad audience that can be easily understood.

  • Experience with change enablement, such as ADKAR.

  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to effectively collaborate with others and build relationships.

  • Effectively exercise discretion and independent judgment.

  • Familiarity with Azure DevOps is preferred.

  • Fluent in English, both written and verbal.

  • Continued willingness and desire to learn and be flexible with an evolving workload.
