We currently have a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Project Manager to join our Smart Infrastructure Electrification & Automation team. Based from our brand-new North Ryde office in Sydney. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work within an area of the Siemens business that has enormous market potential.

Reporting to the Head of Execution, the Project Manager will be responsible for the successful execution of project goals, which include cost, schedule, quality, and technology for the life cycle of the project and potentially across multiple projects. These goals would include using such metrics as revenue, profitability, on-time execution, resource utilization, risk identification, customer satisfaction, etc. The Project Manager will direct all phases of projects from inception through to completion, including the definition of the project scope, technical and commercial reviews.

Some of the key responsibilities include:

• Safe delivery of the projects, to the current ‘as sold’ specification meeting the specific project objectives within agreed timescales and budget delivering the maximum margin

• Be the visible Safety Leader for the project

• Responsible for the Profit and Loss and daily follow up / execution of the project in line with Siemens guidelines

• Establish, monitor and control work packages and maintain a positive collaborative approach

• Ensure project governance is robustly maintained through compliance, gateways, robust project reviews and reporting

• Ensure that Project Management Plans are in place and being updated to reflect the dynamics of the project through its lifecycle

• Monitor progress against specific project program and budget, identifying and mitigating diverse trends through effective corrective management action

• Analyze technical and contractual information of the project and process any required clarification or negotiation either internally or externally with customers

• Manage and follow up the contractual agreements with Headquarter / Suppliers and Customer. Setup Claim/change management process

• Control and actively influence the execution of the forecasted schedule in terms of design issuance, design approval, purchase of materials, production, testing, shipping, and commissioning up to the end of the warranty period

• Take preventive / corrective actions when needed in order to execute the project within the time-frame and according to the contract

• Coordinate the document flow to and from the customer and maintain a record about the status of the documentation

• Perform and manage the Project risks analysis. Coordinate mitigation or preventive actions with internal customer

• Keep a constant communication with the customer, reporting the pending issues and the status of the project.

• Arrange with the customer meetings or factory visits for design reviews, inspections, factory tests, shipment and commissioning coordination

The successful candidate will possess:

• Highly developed communication skills, which they employ proactively to engage with project stakeholders to influence and maintain positive outcomes for Siemens, irrespective of whether those stakeholders are directly or indirectly engaged with Siemens

• Ability to manage and pre-empt issues and take proactive actions to prevent or de-escalate those issue before they become problems

• Degree / Diploma in Electrical & Electronics/ Instrumentation/Control Engineering

• Preferably PM@Siemens Certification

• Minimum of 10 years of Project Management experience in eHouse, MV-LV switchgear, datacentres/ substation automation, protection and SCADA

• Ability to execute functions independently and coordinate in teamwork spirit

• Installation/commissioning and technical know-how

• Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills

• Experience across the full delivery life cycle from design phase, manufacture, commissioning, and installation

• Customer focus and ability to handle complex projects to completion, engage with subcontractors and deal with overseas and local suppliers

• Thorough understanding of the design relating to layouts, electrical components, generators, panels, infrastructure, and the overall integration

• A GROWTH mindset which embraces change and demonstrates resilience and consistent commitment to personal learning and development

You will be a highly motivated and engaged individual who has worked in a similar role before and has an Electrical/Electronic Engineering background. You will have the opportunity to lead multi-disciplinary teams, including program management, services, engineering, operations and logistics.
