Purchasing Specialist for Pressure Vessels
Job Responsibilities
Preparation and execution of the technical part of the procurement of pressure vessels, process-engineering apparatus and similar equipment under consideration of schedules and costs and taking into account the required plant safety and availability in accordance with the rules of technology and while safeguarding the economic interests of the company.
Preparation of technical specifications and inquiry drawings for pressure vessels, process-engineering apparatus and similar equipment in close coordination with site engineering or project teams
Selection of suitable suppliers
Obtaining, clarifying and technical comparison of quotations
Selecting suppliers and creating purchase requisitions in coordination with Technical Purchasing
Review and approval of manufacturer's fabrication documents
Coordination of change orders and claim management
Review and archiving of supplied manufacturer's documentation
Job Requirements
Completed vocational training and several years of practical work experience in the metal sector with further training as a Bachelor or certified Technician in the field of mechanical engineering
Knowledge of the relevant standards, regulations and codes (European Pressure Equipment Directive, EN 13445, ASME Boiler & Pressure Vessel Code, AD2000-Code) and experience in specification & procurement
Good IT skills (SAP, MS-Office), good CAD skills
Good written and spoken English
Basic knowledge in German language
Knowledge and practical experience in project engineering, design, manufacture, operation, inspection or repair of pressure equipment
Very accuracy way of working, strong customer orientation, reliability and ability to work in a team
Ability to work under high workload, self-reliant
