Working together, our Los Angeles hospitals have created a successful Patient Hub – a transfer center that moves eligible patients from other hospitals to available beds in our hospitals for quality care.

Job Summary:

Performs under the supervision of Security Supervisor, performs a variety of duties related to the security of the hospital building and rounds to prevent fire, theft, vandalism, illegal entry and to assure the personal safety of employees, patients, and visitors.

Essential Functions:

  • To perform Building and ground patrols to assure the safety of the hospital.

  • To investigate any thefts, disturbance, suspicious activity.

  • To assist staff with patient restrains and intervention of disruptions by patients, visitors, or staff.

  • Facility access Control. Including the identification of individuals entering the facilities, controlling access to and from sensitive areas, locking, unlocking, and restricting traffic at various times. To activate and deactivate anti-theft alarm system. To report crime and have open communication with local law enforcement.

  • To observe and report activities on daily activity report, question any unauthorized individuals and escort them out as need it.

  • To provide timely response to reports of violent activity or request for the assistance in the restraining violent and aggressive patients of visitors.

Qualifications/Experience:

  • Prefer at least 6 months to 1 year of current experience in an acute hospital setting as a security guard.

  • High School graduate or equivalent preferred

  • Current Guard Card

  • Current Basic Life Support Certification (BLS)

  • Current MAB (AB508)
