About the Role:

As a pivotal leader within our finance team, you will oversee the Collections and Accounts Receivable (AR) operations, emphasizing efficiency, scalability, and strategic growth. This role demands a blend of strategic thinking to enhance long-term business scalability and hands-on tactical execution. Leading a highly motivated team, you will aim to surpass collections targets while pioneering automation solutions. You'll collaborate closely with Billing Operations, Revenue Accounting, Customer Success and other cross-functional teams to refine processes and implement innovative strategies for automation and enhancement. Your responsibilities will include managing day-to-day operations, handling escalations, and driving initiatives to improve the accounts receivable function, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting. A significant part of your role involves engaging with clients to resolve payment issues, monitoring risks, and setting collection priorities to improve DSO.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and motivate the Collections team to exceed targets and drive automation and process improvements.

  • Ensure timely and accurate daily cash application and resolution.

  • Partner with Billing Operations, Revenue Accounting, and other stakeholders to optimize processes for scalability and efficiency.

  • Manage escalations and maintain the company’s interests in collaborations with internal and external stakeholders.

  • Implement policies and frameworks to enhance the accounts receivable function, including automation projects to minimize manual transactions.

  • Own key financial responsibilities including Bad Debt Analysis, Cash Forecasting, and ensuring compliance with monthly and annual reporting deadlines.

  • Analyze data trends within billings/collections to inform data-driven decisions and establish effective policies and procedures for revenue recognition and factoring.

  • Proactively manage client receivables, monitor risks, and engage directly with clients and customer service teams to facilitate payment processes.

  • Foster a team culture focused on customer service, accountability, quality, and continuous improvement.

  • Support internal and external audits, maintain documentation for SOX and internal control audits.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams and leadership, providing insights and advocating for the team’s needs.

  • Develop and maintain relationships with third-party collection agencies and contractor leads, ensuring compliance with policies and driving accountability.

Qualifications :

  • You bring 7+ years of Accounting/Billings/Collections experience, ideally within high-growth enterprise SaaS or technology companies.

  • Your expertise spans financial system applications (e.g., Workday, Salesforce, Slack) and you possess strong Excel or Google Sheets skills.

  • You're known for exceptional communication skills, able to articulate challenges, and drive towards solutions with stakeholder buy-in.

  • A strategic thinker with a knack for motivating global teams, you prioritize improving processes and maintaining high standards of customer service.

  • You hold a BA or BS degree in Accounting or a related field and have a proven track record in full cycle collections and payment applications.

  • Your organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to multitask enable you to meet tight deadlines and contribute to the company's financial health.

The approximate annual base compensation range is $150,000 to $180,000. The actual offer, reflecting the total compensation package and benefits, will be determined by a number of factors including the applicant's experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, geography, as well as internal equity among our team.
