we are looking for you as a(n)Technical Support Specialist, Contractor Management.
Technical Support Specialist (TSS) are responsible for maintaining an intensive field presence focusing on work scope execution to ensure safe, productive, and qualitative fulfillment of Contractor Management (CM) requests throughout the Charleston Site. Routine tasks range from pre-job walkdowns, scope validation, job step evaluation, permit assistance, progress verification, technical issue resolution, etc. The TSS will interact with CM Supervisors, Contractor personnel, and area owner representatives to ensure efficient permitting, work mobilization, and overall craft alignment. Observations and status information is continuously provided to CM Supervisors.
Specialists support the flow of ancillary processes related to work performed by external contractors managed by the group. Expediting, materials locate, arrangement of logistics and Equipment Cleaning (EQC) support, as well as redirect contingencies for individual labor groups are common activities the specialist will engage in daily.
Job Responsibilities:
Attend Morning Contractor Work Team Meetings aligning any work plan changes as realized. Communicate information as requested by CM Supervisor and/or management.
Evaluate Safe Work Permit Requests and participate in Job Walkdowns
Monitor staffing and productivity levels of assigned work groups, continual process rotating between jobs.
Monitor safe work practices and changes in work environment. Interface with EHSS and Contractor Safety Representatives proactively to resolve concerns identified during job sequencing and or as realized during performance of work.
Verify CM requests fielded to the group for accuracy.
Ensure repair/installation activities are compliant with Wacker’s GIS (General Installation Specification) and applicable WCC procedures.
Expedite materials and/or resolve materials issues (i.e. logistics movement, substitution, wrong parts, kit /verify)
Participate in PSSR and quality walks prior/at Turn-over.
Support 3rd party quality inspection as applicable to specific work scopes.
Provide real time statuses to CM Supervisors, gatekeepers, etc. to promote plan adjustments and ensure accurate forecasting.
Other duties as assigned.
Job Requirements:
High School diploma or GED ; Prefer Associate degree in a technical field or nationally accredited craft designation
Minimum 5 years in a technical role in a heavy manufacturing, chemical, or construction environment
Proven technical and mechanical skills, ability to prioritize, and capable of multi-tasking.
Learn Wacker’s GIS, ASME, OSHA 1910/1926, etc.
Interpret technical documentation and apply this information to work execution
Teamwork skills with safety and environmental consciousness required
Good communication skills
Be willing to work any shift (including 12-hour shifts and/or rotating shifts) necessary to support a 24/7 operation
Be willing to work overtime (including weekends and holidays) if necessary
