We provide design, development, manufacturing, assembly and packaging services for high precision transmission systems and precision plastic components. forteq is headquartered in Nidau, Switzerland and employs approximately 800 employees at several engineering and production sites in Europe, USA and China. forteq North America is currently seeking a Tool Maker at our W. Henrietta, NY location. Basic Function: Under moderate supervision, performs basic toolmaker functions for the maintenance of production tooling. The position is also is responsible for ensuring that the sites QEMS is being implemented and managed properly. Essential Duties: 1. Ensures molds are ready for production based on the production schedule. 2. Performs basic preventive maintenance functions as scheduled for all production tools. 3. Carries out small in-house repairs on production tools. 4. Provide production with technical advice on tools and products. 5. Maintains records of tool work completed and other tool room related documentation 6. Maintains high quality standards per TS 16949 and ISO14001 requirements 7. Responsible for maintaining a safe, clean and clutter free work area. 8. Performs such similar, comparable or related duties as may be required. Knowledge: Must have good knowledge and some mold making skills. A working level of plastic processing is useful. Experience: A minimum of two years performing mold-PM duties and hands on experience with injection mold Preventive Maintenance is required. Skills/Aptitudes: Self-starter, Attention to details, especially with regard to injection molds disassembly and assembly. Working Conditions: Plant, tool room, and office environments.
