The Honeywell Foundation, Inc. Stage Hand (Part-Time) in Wabash, Indiana

Stage Hands function as part of a team in one or all of the following departments for large events at Honeywell Arts and Entertainment: Electrics, carpentry, properties, sound, wardrobe, projection, rigging/flyrail and/or truck loading. Most Stage Hands are trained in general stage directions and terms and have a limited knowledge of the technical aspects of the theater. This position is on-call, as-needed, based on our programming schedule.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities (Note: Other duties may be assigned) To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Loads/unloads trucks, assembles sets and properties, lays cables and snakes, hangs lights, backdrops, curtains and scenery ? Repairs and steams costumes, assists in dressing of performers ? Operates audio visual equipment, follow spots and moves scenery ? Seats/unseats the orchestra lift; sets-up platforms, choir risers, orchestra shell, dance floor, tables, chairs and any other required staging for events. ? Fills in where needed

Education And/Or Experience Previous experience working as part of a team to accomplish a common goal with absolute deadlines. Prefer prior work experience as a stage hand in a large theatre that presents multiple touring events each month.

Ability to lift / push or pull 50-75 lbs ? Ability to work 40-75 feet off the stage deck ? Ability to work in a fast paced environment ? Strong sensory skills, such as good eyesight, good hearing and dexterity ? Ability to operate stage equipment safely

Other Requirements Position will require evening and weekend hours as well as extended hours (10-16 hours per day) Responsibilities are subject to change and increase as the position evolves.
