About Connection Systems: This business unit provides technologies that serve as the nervous system of the vehicle, including the complete design, manufacture and assembly of the vehicle's connection systems.
This business unit's products include a vast array of connection systems technologies for the vehicle, including: Housings, Terminals, MePa/Pin-headers, High Voltage Chargers and Interconnects, SRS, High Speed Data solutions, On-Glass connections, Electrical Centers, Media Modules and Wireless Charging products.
Our technology provides critical signal distribution and computing power backbone that supports increased vehicle content & electrification, reduced emissions & higher fuel economy.
Summary (About this Position):
We have an exciting opportunity within Aptiv Connection Systems to be part of a team that drives the development of robust designs for our customers. You will use your engineering knowledge, experiences and understanding of industry standards to evaluate project specific data and provide critical feedback on product designs. Evaluations and feedback are aimed at driving product improvement and flawless product launches.
You will be part of a growing team located at the Champion Technical Center in Warren, Ohio that has company wide recognition based on a history of successfully driving designs that consistently exceed our customer expectations.
Your Role
Review NX CAD Models, Tolerance analyses, Additive Manufactured Parts and Actual Parts documenting areas of concern
Working with Product Engineering to close all areas of concern
Conduct design review meetings
Ensure compliance with customer specific requirements
Your Required Background
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering
Usage of GD&T and complete tolerance analyses for systems
5 years of automotive design experience
Strong results-orientation and execution characteristics
Ability to effectively organize, prioritize and accomplish multiple conflicting tasks, make intelligent, timely decisions and solve problems independently
Your Preferred Background
Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or Bachelor's with 10 years' experience
Understanding of automotive connection systems
Siemens NX experience
Fundamental understand of injection molding
Fundamental understanding of predictive analyses (FEA, Mold Flow)
Demonstrated proficiency using Microsoft Office (i.e. Word, Project, Excel, Outlook, Skype, Teams, Visio, etc.)
Strong results-orientation and execution characteristics
Resourcefully innovative and adapts in a rapidly changing environment
