CORE RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS:
This position is responsible for effective coordination, segregation, packaging, storage, and shipping of hazardous wastes. Advises laboratory and facility personnel on aspects of hazardous materials disposal and assumes responsibility for the accuracy and reliability in complying with regulatory requirements.
Key Duties:
Replace full drums and gaylords of waste with properly labeled empty drums and gaylords
Utilize various drum moving equipment from a drum cart to a forklift
Inspect hazardous waste areas and maintain compliance with RCRA and DOT regulations
Oversee the safe and proper removal of hazardous waste from the facility with approved hazardous waste contractors
Sign appropriate waste manifests and LDRs
Check all spill kits and replenish stock as necessary
Comply with all safety, health, and environmental regulations
FORMAL EDUCATION:
Required:
High School Graduate
KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE:
Required:
Must be able, with or without reasonable accommodation, to lift and carry up to 50 lbs. frequently and up to 50+ lbs. on occasion.

Written and verbal communication skills
Attention to detail and problem-solving skills
Team Player
Preferred:
2+ years of experience in similar role
Certification of forklift operation

Travel 0-5% - The final destination of this role will be in Brecksville. However, training and work will be in Warrensville Heights for 6-9 months. Some training/work will also be at Breen Technology Center in downtown Cleveland.
