The Position
We are currently looking for an Accounting Manager, with a concentration
in manufacturing and inventory control, to join our team.
The Accounting Manager/Assistant Controller oversees the accounting
department functions with a focus on ensuring the timely and accurate
delivery of financial statements and reporting. Accounting managers
generally have several direct reports and work to allocate tasks evenly
across the team. Accounting managers are responsible for driving team
performance and getting the most out of individual contributors.
Job Description
Primary Responsibilities
- Lead the month end close process. Deliver accurate and timely
financial statements.
- Oversee and manage the general accounting functions, including, but
not limited to: accounts payable, accounts receivable, inventory,
general ledger, and taxes
- Implement and enforce internal control policies and procedures.
- Lead quarterly balance sheet reviews and verify all accounts are
reconciled.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly and year-end financial reporting and
audit activities.
- Assess current practices and procedures, and make recommendations
for improvements
- Prepare, review, and analyze financial statements to ensure accuracy
and completeness
- Perform ad hoc analysis and projects as requested
- Develop staff by managing performance, setting goals, providing
ongoing training, and maintaining strong employee relationships
- Work with external auditors to ensure correct and timely closing and
reporting at year-end
Job Requirements
Education
- Bachelor\'s degree in Accounting. CPA or CPA bound is required.
Skills & Relevant Work Experience
- 4+ years of progressive accounting experience with a portion of it
being in a supervisory role
- Thorough knowledge of U.S. GAAP. Strong financial acumen with
demonstrated analytical ability accompanied by knowledge of
corporate finance and manufacturing costing principles-understands
P&L and balance sheet dynamics
- Demonstrated ability to manage and control costs-effectively
develops business cases and enroll leaders at all levels in taking
appropriate action.
- Excellent verbal and written communication abilities across all
level of an organization
- Strong leadership skills with a dedication to driving and achieving
results
- Knowledge of employee relationship building and performance
management techniques
- Conducts himself/herself with the highest ethical and moral
standards.
- Highly motivated and results driven with a high energy level-has a
bias for proactive action.
- Broad operating style, ability to adapt across cultures,
environments and styles.
- Forward thinking leadership abilities, including the ability to
motivate, lead by example, and encourage teamwork and effective
communication.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills. Strong experience with ERP and
financial systems. Experience in D365 preferred.
