POSITION SUMMARY
monthly reconciliations
Intercompany: booking of invoices, netting templates, monthly reconciliations
KEY AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY
Account Reconciliation
Completing the account reconciliation certification document.
Obtaining management certification of accuracy, validity, and completeness of reconciliation.
Identifying and executing action items to resolve reconciliation variances.
Monitoring aged reconciling items
Reporting qualifying risk items.
Detailed reconciliation of Inventory Accruals account
Reconciling inventory transfers to General Ledger
Managing Internal Controls
Frequent review of accounting transactions to ensure compliance with accounting policies.
Obtaining and verifying signatures on purchase orders, sales contracts, checks, etc.
Maintaining supporting documentation and sub-ledger information.
Safeguarding company sensitive information/assets from unauthorized users.
Communicating With Associates in Other Business Functions
Providing data and reports to Corporate Consolidations & Reporting, Plant associates, Business Consultants, Planning Analysts, Auditors, IS, Tax.
Providing appropriate accounting information to ITS for new systems implementation.
Accounting Systems
Familiarity with systems used within a specific accounting discipline such as Oracle, TITAN.
Clearing error accounts.
Clearing intercompany imbalances and disputed items.
Entering and Analyzing Accounting Data
Familiarity with systems, Chart of Accounts, and accounting policies used within a specific accounting discipline.
Researching accounting entries.
Performing accounting entries.
Balancing balance sheet and P&L statements (tie out reports).
Process Improvement
Shortening the close process.
Implementing new systems.
Documenting desktop procedures and processes.
Providing feedback and requests for change.
Basic Qualifications
Years of Experience/Education:
Intermediate: 2-5 years' experience or equivalent education. Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, or equivalent experience.
Ability to effectively communicate, both written and verbal
Preferred Qualifications
English – Intermediate
Experience in GAAP accounting and reporting
Advanced knowledge of Oracle R12 or equivalent system
MS Windows (Excel) advanced user
Master’s Degree preferred
