Job Description

Purpose of the Role

We are looking to recruit a Health, Safety & Environmental (HS&E) Manager CEE to be responsible for:

  • overseeing the design and implementation of HSE Management systems, Process Safety systems across the MDLZ CEE Business Unit, inclusive of coordination with all HSE Managers (E2E responsibility for plants, warehouses, offices), Plant PSM owners and functional partners,

  • co-ordinating, supporting and overseeing all HS&E and Process Safety programs

  • driving and assisting Plants on Sustainability Roadmap and sustainability agenda

  • governance for Energy, CO2 and Water Reduction Programs with the aim to improve operational excellence in Sustainability agenda for the plants

  • providing the safety input for New Project designs, and supporting PSM requirements

In this role, you will support HS&E agenda for the CEE BU, drive HSE Tower programmes. You will also act as advisor to the Manufacturing Directors and contact point for all HS&E Managers for all Safety & Environmental & Sustainability matters.

How you will contribute

You will:

  • Manage BU Health, Safety & Environmental planning and implementation and support HSE teams and Leadership teams

  • Manage, coordinate, support deployment of HSE standards, HSE and Process Safety Programmes in the CEE sites including follow-up on non-conformances, and identify means to resolve. Drives improvements in Safety and Sustainability

  • Ensure compliance and understanding of MDLZ standards, policies and regulatory requirements including for new projects and the management of change driving innovation and continuous improvement.

  • Conduct periodic assessments to monitor and aid Plant HSE compliance to Mondelez standards.

  • Provide HSE expertise and seeks guidance from internal (or if required external) subject matter experts

  • Coordinate PSM activities in dedicated Process Safety subject matter

  • Participate in HSE cross assessments

  • Establish and maintain record of key activity drivers and completion against plan.

  • Provide updates to leadership and steering team on progress and ensure alignment against expectations.

  • Provide direction for inspecting, managing and maintaining processes to prevent HSE incidents.

  • Oversee, support HSE incidents investigations

  • Establish training and capability programs to further education in Safety and Process Safety including Operational Standards, Process Hazard Assessments, Work Instructions, RCAs and Work Processes

  • Provide direction to internal functions, including Engineering, IL6S (AM/PM, IIM), Sanitation, and other functions as needed to ensure alignment to HSE / PSM journey on each of the identified hazards.

  • Build environmental awareness and engagement, identify best practices, best equipment/processes and tools to achieve Energy, CO2, Water reduction, develop awareness and training materials

  • Identify opportunities and proposals of technical and operational actions to achieve improvements.

  • Provide linkage across the regions with Key Stakeholders, Site Teams, SMEs by actively participating in discussions on program development and implementation.

What you will bring

  • University Degree in Health, Safety or Environmental field or equivalent. Internal candidates must have 5 years experience in MDLZ and gain H,S or E qualifications within 2 years of appointment.

  • At least 5 years experience as a Health, Safety and Environment Practitioner preferably within a manufacturing or Process Safety Engineering or IL6S Engineering

  • Ability to lead, engage, influence, and motivate cross-functionally and across different cultures

  • Excellent learner, ability to adapt fast to new situations, ability to see beyond the obvious, alert and very attentive to details

  • Experience of coaching individuals,

  • Demonstrated experience managing a team, change management and project management

  • Excellent interpersonal communication and influencing skills with internal and external stakeholders at all levels

  • Appropriate auditing experience of HSE systems

  • Experience of working with other plants and cultures.
