Summary:

Meta's Remote Site Engineering (RSE) Data Center team plays a pivotal role in scaling our infrastructure to support billions of users worldwide. By embracing our hacker roots and challenging conventional approaches, this team forms the technical backbone that empowers Meta to fulfill its mission. They are responsible for the design, budgeting, procurement, deployment, and standardization of corporate office networks across Meta Offices and Data Centers globally, ensuring seamless and efficient operations.We are seeking a Technical Domain Manager to manage the deployment of corporate network and office technology. This role involves building strong relationships and processes to ensure success throughout the planning, design, construction, deployment, and handover phases of data center and office build projects. The ideal candidate will have a blend of technical expertise and project management skills, with a focus on innovation, collaboration, and effective communication to drive productivity and service improvements.

Required Skills:

Technical Domain Manager, RSE Responsibilities:

  1. Oversight across Corporate Network implementations in new and existing Meta Office and Data Center regions

  2. Oversight of project management and deployment of office network technology in Office and Data Center facilities

  3. Support all aspects of Data Center and Office construction and network deployment, including new sites, collocation build-outs, and retrofits

  4. Drive alignment of Data Center and Office technology milestones, tracking, and reporting of data center projects

  5. Develop and track budgets, forecasts, and actuals for Office and Data Center network build projects for Enterprise Engineering

  6. Identify operational pain points and opportunities to improve business practices

  7. Collaborate with various network engineering, Dater Center/Workplace design, and connectivity teams to generate network infrastructure design packages

  8. Work with design, construction, and operations teams to identify and remedy process gaps and issues

  9. Build and nurture business relationships with key stakeholders, partners, and vendors

  10. Act as a subject matter expert (SME) for the physical infrastructure and design and deployment of corporate office network in data centers and offices

  11. Partner with engineering teams to ensure our fiber infrastructure management tool accurately reflects network infrastructure design intent and captures any infrastructure changes

  12. Perform logical network bootstrapping functions to ensure our internal tools reflect network hardware and circuits

  13. Initiate and lead strategic initiatives driving efficiency, innovation, and standardization of our data centers through the use of coding and automation.

  14. Perform site visits and work cross-functionally with construction, design architects, and contractors to validate infrastructure and network builds according to Meta standards

  15. Influence future iterations of data center/office and network designs to ensure seamless integration of new infrastructure and enable scalability

  16. Maintain technical reference, process, and training documentation

  17. Perform risk management and change management on projects

  18. Provide day-to-day coordination and quality assurance for projects and tasks

  19. Consult with Design Engineering/SMEs for non-standard spaces

  20. Apply technology standards throughout the design phase and ensure consistent application throughout the lifecycle of a project across several verticals

  21. Use drafting software to markup architectural drawings with electrical and data symbols

  22. Engage with third party vendors for hardware procurement, scheduling, and integration

  23. Manage onsite integration for all new builds/retrofits and remove roadblocks for technicians on-site during deployment

  24. Perform testing and commissioning handovers from Meta commissioning technician and third-party vendors

  25. Provide hands-on program management during analysis, design, development, testing, implementation, and post-implementation phases

Minimum Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

  1. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, relevant technical field, or equivalent practical experience.

  2. 7+ years of work experience with designing and deploying large-scale Office/Data Center network infrastructure

  3. Demonstrated knowledge of structured cabling and fiber optic infrastructure including design and installation best practices, industry standards, application and limitations

  4. Knowledge of Data Center/ Office Building architecture and network design, construction, and start up/commissioning processes

  5. Experience leading cross-functional teams and driving large-scale build projects

  6. Track record of solving problems, setting strategic direction, and executing tactically

  7. Working knowledge of internet networking technologies (TCP/IP, routing, switching) and optical transport technologies

  8. Knowledge of enterprise and provider level network hardware platforms (IP + Optical)

  9. Organizational, multitasking, prioritization and communication experience

  10. Experience with circuit provisioning and wireline telecommunications services such as point-to-point, IP transit, and PRI/ERI

  11. 50% of travel required based on project demand
