Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced Full-Stack VB.NET Developer to join our Digital team. This role involves working on both commercial and internal software applications within a focused product group, contributing to the support of our technical and engineering staff. The ideal candidate will have a robust background in the Microsoft stack. Specifically, VB.NET and adjacent web technologies. Candidate will have a demonstrated command of other domains such as C#, WPF, .NET Core, Angular or React, cloud architectures, and DevOps.

The ideal candidate will join our Digital team comprising developers, engineers, and technical specialists. Our Digital team’s mission is to create solutions to enable our operational teams across the world, while delivering top solutions to our clients. Additionally, we are working on several exciting internal initiatives to boost internal efficiencies spanning Retrieval Augmented Generation to tablet based apps for field data collection.

This position will report to a director, located in our Rhode Island office, whose team is responsible for the advancement of a rapidly growing platform product that is both commercial and internal facing. Within the Digital organization there are multiple software product teams where staff can stretch into other technical areas to contribute and learn.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain software applications using VB.NET, ASP.NET, and MS SQL Server.

  • Work on full-stack development, including both front-end (Web Forms, WPF) and back-end (MS SQL Server) technologies.

  • Create and manage SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS) reports.

  • Collaborate with the product group within the Digital team to support internal efficiency tools and commercial client facing products.

  • Ensure the reliability and performance of all digital solutions.

  • This is an opportunity to work on a variety of projects that have meaningful impact on internal processes and client engagement.

  • This position will work in a collaborative environment within a larger Digital team that develops software products supporting many different areas of our business

Requirements and Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, Math, or an equivalent field.

  • 5+ years of applicable experience

  • Proficiency in VB.NET, ASP.NET, C#, Web Forms, HTML, CSS, WPF, MS SQL Server

  • Experience in modern web technologies (.NET Core, Angular or React)

  • Experience with SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS) and JavaScript

  • A track record of success in full-stack development.

  • Demonstrated progression in skill development and command of the technical domain.

  • Excellent problem-solving, communication, and teamwork skills.

  • Prefer the ability to work from our Rhode Island office full time, but a hybrid option may be considered for exemplary candidates.
