Kaiser Permanente Manager, Radiology Operations- Kensington in Washington D.C., District Of Columbia
This position is responsible for planning, directing, organizing and coordinating radiology services for all assigned facilities. Serves as a subject matter expert and acts as the technical resource for the region in designated specialized area. Responsible for the design and oversight of highly reliable imaging operations including accountabilities for quality of care, quality of members experience, affordability, standard work and employee, experience and competence. Accountable for role modeling principles defined in KP Mission and Standards and creating a culture of compliance, ethics and integrity.
Direct radiology operation by planning, implementing and monitoring short and long-term actions consistent with the organization's mission and strategic plan and the department's mission and strategic objectives. Integrate radiology service goals with the goals of the organization
Responsible for and monitors imagings performance on key indicators to include affordability, quality and service.
Allocate, monitor and ensure accountability for assigned group of cost centers. Perform financial planning; review budget preparation and justification of labor and non-labor expenditures. Maintain an ongoing process to identify and evaluate cost restructuring activities that achieve gainful results for radiology and the organization. Administer staffing, materials and capital equipment budget for the assigned facilities.
As a member of the Radiology Management team, utilize knowledge, communication and relationships to integrate into the planning process for all related work teams in the Region. Represent the radiology in Medical Operations Building functions and committees. Builds strong performance-based and collaborative relationships with local and regional leadership fostered by frequent communication and interaction. Maintain a productive partnership with the assigned radiologist and radiology staff. Participates in day, weekend and holiday on call to include but not limited to Radiology Manager of the Day and Medical Building Manager of the Day programs.
Manage the employee experience. Recruit, hire, coach, mentor and empower radiology staff. Select, develop and retain competent and professional staff. Evaluate performance, recognize achievements and, when necessary, initiate corrective action in accordance with Kaiser policy and state and federal law. Collaborate with other members of radiology, Medical Office and Regional leadership teams to provide and oversee training and competency, as well as teaching, promoting and modeling effective communication for supervisors and staff. Ensure employee experience activities incorporate all applicable KP policies, regulations and accreditation standards.
Perform, assist and support functions within the assigned facilities. Collaborate with other members of radiology, Medical Office and Regional leadership teams to provide regulatory and accreditation requirements to ensure that all are met or exceeded. Development and implementation of monitors for quality assurance. Collaborate with other members of radiology, Medical Office and Regional leadership teams to ensure region-wide consistency in Imaging Services management, process, compliance and overall service quality. Ensures departmental technical, quality, and administrative activities are compliant with all regulatory requirements.

Minimum five (5) years of clinical radiology experience required.
Minimum three (3) years of leadership experience in a clinical radiology setting
Bachelor's degree in radiological science, healthcare or a related field OR four (4) years of experience in a directly related field.
High School Diploma or General Education Development (GED) required.
License, Certification, Registration
- AART, ARMDS or NMTCB certification required.
Working knowledge of clinical computer systems, PC computer skills, and Microsoft Office tools
Thorough knowledge of regulatory (state and federal) agency requirements and professional practice standards.
Comprehensive knowledge of the function of a radiology
Thorough knowledge of principles of supervision, management, personnel management, financial analysis and budgeting.
Experience in financial management, program development, quality improvement and project management.
Demonstrates customer-focused service skills.
