Smithbucklin is looking for an Account Associateto join the team in Washington DC. Smithbucklin's Sales Services Team specializes in national advertising, sponsorship and exhibit sales for associations. This is an exciting and challenging position for a high-energy, detail-oriented individual with a keen interest in digital media, print media and in person events. When you join our team, you’ll be part of a group of association and media professionals who use imagination, solid experience, a winning attitude and a competitive spirit to exceed client expectations.

What You Will Do

  • Manage a portfolio of Association clients that Smithbucklin sells exhibit, sponsorship, and advertising on behalf of

  • Manage client databases and prospect for new sales leads

  • Maintain regular communication with advertisers, exhibitors, or sponsors regarding upcoming deadlines and ad material collection

  • Execute preflight processes and maintain detailed production reports for print and digital publications

  • Participate in client meetings

  • Attend client conferences and tradeshows on an as-needed basis

  • Complete and update industry market analysis to assist with pricing strategies and new business development

  • Monitor general site statistics for clients’ websites and digital products (e.g., eNewsletters, eblasts and webinars) using Google Analytics or similar software

  • Partner with the sales team, association and production teams to improve campaign performance based on client goal

  • Maintain and submit weekly reports out of Salesforce

  • Manage project timelines, such as webinar campaigns or custom content opportunities

    Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited four-year university or equivalent experience

  • 1-2 year of relevant professional experience

    Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in publishing, advertising, tradeshows or similar industries

  • Ad trafficking experience with a major commercial ad serving platform, such as Equativ, SmartAd, Broadstreet, AdButler, or Google Double Click

  • Experience with Salesforce is a plus

  • Experience with design programs, such as Photoshop and InDesign is a plus

  • Experience with HTML is a plus

  • Familiarity with Interactive Advertising Bureau (IAB) standards and best practices is a plus

  • Skill and experience using Microsoft Excel

  • Proficiency with basic computer programming, including the Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
