Belonging to the Military, Intelligence, and Operations Support (MIOS) Strategic Business Unit (SBU), Chronos has a culture rooted in integrity, respect, and exceptional performance. Chronos is headquartered in Colorado Springs, CO, and provides mission-critical services in Advanced Analytics & AI, Software Engineering, Cybersecurity, Information Technology, and Intelligence.

The Agile Coach shall provide support services to develop and implement the delivery of a pragmatic set of services in support of BISD’s Agile IT Modernization capabilities.

Responsibilities

  • Demonstrate an in-depth understanding of Agile processes, manage and execute backlog refining sessions for sprint teams, and provide recommendations based on metrics evaluated.

  • Coach project teams and assist them to execute Agile practices in achieving Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment and Delivery.

  • Assist in easing the organizational cultural transition from well-established federal hierarchical structures, processes, and reporting to the transformation that Agile tends to introduce.

  • Help the project team to overcome internal barriers to excellence by assisting with tasks such as defining the Definition of Done, estimation of stories, and navigating through difficult Agile issues.

  • Analyze current project delivery and governance processes to identify pain points, challenges, and opportunities for improvement.

  • Use Agile development framework to gather requirements, estimate tasks, distill business requirements into incremental features, and demonstrate new functionality to product owners.

  • Work with leadership, project managers, business analysts, IT specialists, product owners, and others who are responsible for forward progress and proven results, focusing on the facilitation of events that help create change and improvement.

  • Expert facilitator to elicit and document future-state processes and high-level requirements.

  • Assist in developing training material for junior Agile teammates as well as, planning, organizing, and conducting training sessions.

  • Support business development activities as required (e.g., customer technical capabilities briefings, past performance content, technical solutions).

  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university OR

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent and an additional 6+ years of relevant experience may be used instead of a degree

  • Must have a minimum of 4+ years of experience as an Agile Coach or Scrum Master

  • Must have a minimum of 2+ years of experience with Agile tools, including JIRA and Confluence to support reporting and deliverables tracking

  • Must have a minimum of 1+ years of experience with both Scrum and Kanban methodologies

  • Must have experience with teaching technical teams the basic Agile framework concepts

  • Must have experience with defining Stories and prioritizing the Team Backlog to streamline the execution of program priorities while maintaining the conceptual and technical integrity of the Features or components

  • Must have experience with creating solutions in a collaborative, cross-functional team environment

  • Scrum Alliance Certified ScrumMaster Certification required

  • Must be a US citizen

  • Background check required with the ability to obtain Public Trust

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Certification in Agile methodologies, like Certified ScrumMaster (CSM), Certified Scrum Professional (CSP), or SAFe Program Consultant (SPC) is preferred

  • Experience with Microsoft Azure DevOps preferred but not required

  • Deep understanding of Agile principles and practices, as well as various frameworks, like Scrum, Kanban, Lean, and SAFe

  • Experience with agile tools and software (e.g., JIRA, Confluence

  • Experience coaching teams and individuals on Agile practices, facilitating workshops, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement

  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills with the ability to influence and inspire teams to adopt Agile practices and mindset

  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to convey complex concepts in a clear and concise manner

  • Experience in organizational transformation and change management

  • Advanced skills in problem-solving

  • Good work ethic and active desire to learn

  • Skillful time management and organizational skills to set and meet deadlines

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills

  • Ability to work both independently and within a team

  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment to encourage collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement

  • Ability to be in a leadership role

  • Ability to meet minimum security requirements
