Actalent Assistant Project Manager in Washington, District Of Columbia

Assistant Project Manager | Construction | Washington, DC

Description:

We are a leading General Contractor located in the Washington, DC and are in search of a Project Manager with 5-10 years experience. This is an excellent full-time opportunity for someone seeking an exciting dynamic position. We are a leading JOC Contractor with multiple agencies in the District. JOC experience is a plus.

About the Ideal Candidate:

The successful candidate should be a highly motivated professional with a minimum of one year relevant experience in business and/or managerial duties and be a college graduate. If you are a quick learner, resourceful by nature, willing to work hard for a small business, have an amiable personality and a solid sense of life and humor this may be the job for you.

Requirements:

Four Year College Degree. Engineering or construction related is a plus.

1 to 3 years of business, project or other relevant experience.

Excellent customer skills and natural pleasant demeanor with clients.

Excellent oral and written communication skills is a must.

Ability to multi-task in an ever-changing environment including deadlines.

Must be highly organized, resourceful and have a strong attention to detail.

Ability to prioritize and accommodate deadlines.

Professional phone manner.

Proficient with MS Office especially Excel.

Ability to work independently with little supervision and in a team environment.

Willing to start immediately.

Key Responsibilities:

Review architectural plans and specifications.

Create formal submittal packages as needed for projects including project closeout.

Prepare project take offs using MS Excel as well as proposals.

Provide onsite project management as needed.

Create detailed MS project plans including Gantt charts.

Organize project supplies and track project budgets.

Coordinating daily/weekly project scheduling.

Tracking and updating all current orders as related to projects.

Providing excellent customer service.

Maintaining and organizing project records.

Perform all other duties as requested or required.

Additional Skills & Qualifications:

  1. 2-5 years of Assistant Project Manager experience at a GC

  2. Renovation experience for housing authorities (multi-family/commercial), or relevant renovation experience locally

  3. 4+ year college degree - relevant to construction is a plus
