Tuknik Government Services, a Koniag Government Services company , is seeking an AWS Cloud Engineer with a Top-Secret Security Clearance to support TGS and our government customer in Washington, DC.

We are seeking an AWS Cloud Engineer (Top-Secret Clearance required) to join a data warehouse and business intelligence (BI) development team supporting our federal client working to migrate an on-prem Oracle Enterprise Edition (EE) data warehouse to Redshift instance in AWS. This is a full-time position with on-site work performed at the client’s office located in Washington, D.C.

Responsibilities:

  • Automated infrastructure provisioning.

  • Follow DevOps best practices to define deployment architecture.

  • Provide architectural and design input for network provisioning, connectivity, and security.

  • Manage, update, and monitor cloud-based infrastructure, security, and application environments.

  • Conduct Automated Cloud Security Assessment (ACSA) scans and remediate the findings for AWS services.

  • Conduct, prioritize and remediate Tennable Nessus findings for RHEL servers.

  • Review CHEF cookbooks and apply CHEF recipes to remediate Common Vulnerabilities and Exposures (CVE). For time critical CVE’s write custom CHEF recipes to remediate sooner

  • Configure Splunk for centralized logging using IaC

  • Configure AWS security groups.

  • Updates OS level patches

  • Use DevSecOps methodology in every step of the SDLC.

  • Configure SSO authentication on COTS application and development tools.

  • Create SSL certificate to secure application endpoints.

Requirements:​​

  • Active Top-Secret clearance required.

  • 3-5 years of DevOps experience

  • Proficiency in CI/CD tools (i.e., Gitlab runner, Github Action etc.)

  • Previous hands-on AWS experience

  • Best practice knowledge with setting up automated pipeline triggers.

  • Proficiency with GitOps

  • Experience with Linux​ administration

  • Experience with coding languages such as python

  • Familiarity with security tools such as ACAS scanners and remediation

  • Familiarity with Splunk​

  • Basic understanding on networking and routing​

  • Proficiency in automation and configuration management tools such as Terraform, Terragrunt, Ansible and CHEF

  • Knowledge of scripting languages (YAML, Python, Bash) for automation and troubleshooting

Working Environment & Conditions

This job operates in a professional office environment and has a noise level of mostly low to moderate. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.

This position is primarily indoors, consistent with a standard office position and has a noise level of mostly low to moderate. The incumbent is required to stand, walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; talk and hear. The workload may require the incumbent to sit for extended periods of time. The incumbent must be able to read, do simple math calculations and withstand moderate amounts of stress.

The incumbent must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 lbs. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
