Summary This position is located in the Employment Unit and is responsible supporting the overall discovery program for the Labor, Employment and Administration Section, and to provide program analyses and recommendations to management for the Section. Responsibilities Plans and manages activities related to litigation of the Section such as planning, executing, and completion of complex discovery activities in connection with litigation and other matters. Works closely and cooperatively with all Section managers, attorneys, and support staff to ensure that program activities are completed in a timely manner, in accordance with applicable legal requirements, court rules, and policies and procedures established by the Corporation and the Supervisor. Implements processes and procedures to efficiently and effectively respond to discovery, which includes managing requests and preparing responses; monitoring, planning, conducting, analyzing, and coordinating electronic discovery functions; and tracking, managing, analyzing and creating reports reflecting costs of discovery activities. Continually seeks out and obtains appropriate training to stay abreast of developments relevant to the mission and objectives of the Section and to maintain the expert technical knowledge necessary to successfully perform operations for the Section. Qualifications Qualifying experience may be obtained in the private or public sector. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic, religious/spiritual; community; student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. To qualify for the CG-13: Applicants must have at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the CG-12 level in the federal service. Specialized experience is experience analyzing and evaluating; providing litigation support by organizing documents, exhibits, and electronically stored information (ESI); drafting discovery requests and responses; and preparing pleadings. Applicants must have met the qualification requirements (including selective placement factors – if any) for this position within 30 calendar days of the closing date of this announcement. Additional Information Selectee(s) for this position will be required to report to their duty station office two days per week.
