Job Overview

The Program Coordinator (PC) at Georgetown University's Clinical Research Unit (CRU) will assist in the daily administrative functions of the Georgetown Clinical Research Unit (CRU), focusing on data collection, management, and reporting for grant metrics sourced from Investigators, participants and various platforms including WebCAMP and GU Box.

The PC will work closely with Institutional Review Board as well as with staff from collaborating CTSA institutions (such as Howard University, MedStar Health Research Institute, Veteran’s Affairs and NRH), to ensure accurate and ongoing data collection and protocol flow for incoming clinical studies.

The PC will also work in partnership with the Program Manager to spearhead Scientific Evaluation and Prioritization Committee (SEPCOM) responsibilities.

Additionally, the PC position will be the designated Research Match liaison at Georgetown University and serve as the GU Project Lead for the Hub Liaison Team (HLT) module of the Georgetown-Howard Universities Center for Clinical and Translational Science (GHUCCTS).

Duties include but are not limited to:

  • Organize Scientific Evaluation and Prioritization Committee (SEPCOM) responsibilities

  • Process applications, communicate with investigators

  • Schedule meetings, assign reviewers

  • Facilitate and record meetings, take minutes

  • Complete approval letters, manage storage of records

  • Attend and present at outreach community events

Work Interactions and Work Mode Designation

The Program Coordinator will report to the CRU Nurse Manager and the Program Manager. The PC will assist in the daily administrative management of the CRU as well as grant management and reporting for GHUCCTS. The Program Coordinator will interact with participants, physician investigators across the five institutions of GHUCCTS, research coordinators, university and hospital administration, and CRU staff. This position must be able to interact with all levels of professions and community members, using verbal, relational, and written skills. Effective communication skills are essential for engaging with diverse professionals and community members. The Program Coordinator position is critical to the internal operations of the CRU and has immediate impact on the image of the department as a whole.

This position has been designated as Hybrid. Please note that work mode designations are regularly reviewed in order to meet the evolving needs of the University. Requirements and Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree

  • Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in an academic and/or research setting

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel and PowerPoint

  • Detail orientated and a commitment to outstanding customer service

  • Excellent interpersonal skills, verbal and written communication skills

  • Ability to prioritize and perform multiple tasks simultaneously with little supervision
