SummaryThe Regulatory Analyst participates in analysis in support of the Board's information collection efforts, in conjunction with the Federal Reserve System's Statistics Function. The analyst participates in the Federal Reserve's report review and clearance program for all data series collected for policy, regulatory, and supervisory purposes.
Duties and Responsibilities- Participates in establishing methods and systems for data collection or analysis of economic variables relevant to the formulation and conduct of monetary and regulatory policy and financial stability analysis.
- Processes the clearance report proposals under established procedures and standards.
- Answers inquiries from senior staff, other agencies, and the general public about reporting issues, data content, and related topics.
- Participates in the analysis of new legislation, regulations, and polices that affect the information needs of the Federal Reserve.
- Participates in efforts to ensure compliance with congressionally mandated policies, OMB policies and internal Federal Reserve Policies related to information collection and recommends new policies.
- Suggests to reporting forms and instructions to maintain consistency, prevent overlap, and ensure they meet Federal Reserve information needs.
- Works to develop own professional skills.
Position requirements:
The FR-24 grade requires a strong knowledge of financial analysis, economic principles, and data analysis acquired through completion of a bachelor's degree in finance, economics, or related fields and a minimum of 3 years of related experience or a master's degree in a related field and 1 year of related experience.
The FR-25 requires a strong knowledge of financial analysis, economic principles, and data analysis acquired through completion of a bachelor's degree in finance, economics, or related fields and a minimum of 4 years of related experience or a master's degree in a related field and 2 years of related experience.
The FR-26 requires a strong knowledge of financial analysis, economic principles, and data analysis acquired through completion of a bachelor's degree in finance, economics, or related fields and a minimum of 5 years of related experience or a master's degree in a related field and 3 years of related experience.
Remarks:
Must have the ability to excel in a team-oriented work environment, but also demonstrate an ability to work independently. Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills and strong analytical and organizational skills. Editing skills desirable to ensure that documents conform to established standards of grammar, language usage, style, and format. Experience with Office of Management and Budget procedures for clearing information collections under the Paperwork Reduction Act is preferred. Experience with ROCIS is preferred. Knowledge of data governance, data quality, data management practices is a plus. Experience managing projects with proven ability to define scope, requirements, and objectives along with experience completing a project according to a defined budget and timeline is a plus.

The Federal Reserve Board has resumed a required in-office presence.
