Job Description Summary

The Global Repair Sourcing Category role is a key role ensuring the business unit of Repair, Harvest & Goldseal operations are able to maximise their productivity and fulfilment with respect to their engagement with sourcing and the global supply base.

They will negotiate with dedicated providers according to specific policies. Achieve the best contractual conditions while also ensuring internal customer satisfaction. Has in-depth knowledge of best practices and how own area integrates with others; has working knowledge of competition and the factors that differentiate them in the market

Job Description

The role has two key area of scope:

Firstly the management of a small team of Repair dedicated sourcing leaders who manage globally the third party repair suppliers, unique components of repair and the transfers of repairs to our regional repair centers. It’s a key area to directly deliver productivity and supplier performance for the company.

Secondly the drive across the product sourcing team of the initiatives from the Repair & Harvest operations team to deliver productivity and performance from the OEM/dedicated suppliers under product sourcing ownership. A key collaborator with the business the individual will represent sourcing with respect to the identification, design, and implementation of the initiatives and when creating or improving processes and the characterization of the KPI and measures.

They will be responsible for the personal development of their direct reports as well as be a key partner in the management team of their stakeholders, Service Sourcing and the wider GEHC sourcing organization.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Define supplier strategy including management and optimization of supplier panels. Lead negotiations and allocate needs to specific suppliers. Negotiate terms and conditions and transmit information to Procurement. Manage claims. Includes commercial sourcing management such as data analysis, negotiations support, etc. This may also include purchasing activities.

  • Be proficient executing the GEHC legal templates and work with legal to evolve standard and custom language to fit the developing business need.

  • Developing specialized depth and/or breadth of expertise in own job discipline or field. Serves as best practice/quality resource. Has awareness of latest functional developments in own area. Contributes towards strategy and policy development, and ensures delivery within area of responsibility.

  • Skilled influencer, able to communicate complex messages to others. Acts as a resource for colleagues with less experience. May lead projects with moderate risks and resource requirements. Explains difficult or sensitive information; works to build consensus. Developing persuasion skills required to influence others on topics within field.

  • Impacts approaches, projects and programs in the functional area or affected business organization and ways of working. Impacts quality, efficiency and effectiveness of own team. These jobs have significant input into their priorities. Jobs at this level tend to be covered by professional practices and policies but these are shaped by the role. Working within broad guidelines and policies, roles at this level have moderate autonomy, requiring high levels of evaluative judgment.

  • Uses judgment to make decisions or solve moderately complex tasks or problems that impact the function. Takes new perspective on existing solutions. Uses technical experience and expertise for data analysis to support recommendations. Uses multiple internal and limited external sources outside of own function to arrive at decisions.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Procurement, Supply Chain Management

  • Minimum of 7 years experience in Engineering, Sourcing, Operations, or Supply Chain.

  • Excellent business/financial acumen, proficient in leading and setting direction for teams, including demonstrated ability to motivate, influence and drive change at all levels of the organization

  • Excellent growth leadership skills demonstrating clear global perspective and understand factors impacting GEHC businesses and our suppliers

  • . Willing to travel domestically and internationally up to 25% of time

  • For roles outside of the USA- This role requires significant experience in the Sourcing & Commodity Management. Knowledge level is comparable to a Master's degree from an accredited university or college ( or a high school diploma with relevant experience).

  • For roles in USA - Master's degree from an accredited university or college (or a high school diploma / GED with at least 6 years of experience in Job Family Group(s)/Function(s)).

Desired Characteristics

  • Master in Engineering or Business Administration

  • 10 years solid engineering, sourcing, or supply chain experience including 3 years in a leadership capacity.

  • Excellent program/project management experience with the ability to develop and execute on integrated program plans.

  • Extensive global experience leading cross-functional or geographically dispersed teams

  • Proven Executive Leadership skills in driving Global change across an organization, including strong Change Acceleration Process skills.

  • Demonstrated ability to lead courageously, maintaining a strong position amidst opposition to resolve important issues, and ability to navigate through a large complex business.

  • Strong oral and written communication skills. Strong interpersonal and leadership skills. Demonstrated ability to analyze and resolve problems. Demonstrated ability to lead programs / projects. Ability to document, plan, market, and execute programs. Established project management skills.
