Responsibilities
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Follows all Company policies regarding safety, quality and attendance.
Performs duties in a safe manner and report all observed safety hazards to the Senior Operator.
Ensures a quality product through regular quality checks by reading and verifying line orders and spec sheets.
Conducts regular product quality checks as required. Reports any out of spec products to the Senior Operator immediately.
Contributes to the smooth operation of their section, by partnering with the Section Operators and Machine Line Operators to ensure safety, quality, production, and housekeeping meet or exceed world class standards.
Properly packages finished goods to include correct use of labels, chips, sleeves, twist ties, pallet patterns and code stamps.
Responsible for proper packaging of all finished goods to achieve the best cosmetic presentation possible.
Responsible for verifying and executing pallet patterns.
Maintains a neat and orderly work area; meets plant and department housekeeping standards.
May be assigned additional housekeeping responsibilities throughout the plant as needed to maintain a clean and orderly work space.
Assigned to multiple winders, bag machines, etc. based on bag count and line speed, as deemed necessary by management
Qualifications
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of the job.
The employee must be able to keep up with moderate speed production machines and winders.
Manual dexterity required with exposure to arm, wrist and back fatigue.
Constant handle product, grasp, hold, grip and squeeze.
The employee routinely bends and lifts up to 50 pounds of plastic over a twelve (12) hour shift, pulls, pushes rolls of plastic onto pallets, rearranges and organizes product, grasps and pulls on a rope to start the production process, pulls and pushes on shafts to finish roll or re-load winders.
Occasionally climbs stairs into the tower areas 50 to 75 feet high.
The employee stands approximately 10 hours and frequently walks in the production area to locate materials and check production.
Frequently stretching and reaching to reprocess discarded plastic
Operation of roll carts, pallet jacks and lifting equipment is essential to job responsibilities.
