This role has primary responsibility for ensuring optimum operational PGM management across our Clean Air sites in the region, working closely with sites overseeing the quantity, traceability, and accountability of metals. This role will work with the leadership team, including the Sector Metals Business Process owner to develop and deploy standard policies, procedures, and metrics to sites to ensure metals are managed efficiently and ethically across the end-to-end processes.

Metals management is a complex detailed subject that requires a high level of understanding, intuition and experience to be successful.

Your responsibilities:

  • Developing PGM awareness and capabilities within regional sites including across departments

  • Functional oversight and leadership of operational PGM management across sites in the region.

  • Managing the sponge & salt system in the region working closely with material planners to ensure optimum inventory of metal and working capital.

  • Managing the scrap & refining supply chain in the region working with sites and PGMS (Platinum Group Metals Services) to optimise the flow of metals to optimise working capital and P&L.

  • Functional oversight and guidance to sites on manufacturing metals management including batch by batch mass balance and calculated gravimetric process accuracy, metal accountability and high-risk inventory management.

  • Continuous improvement of metals controls and management across the regional sites.

  • Coordinating and ownership of the regional PGM performance metrics and objectives.

  • To take on any other duties which are within the employee’s skills and abilities whenever reasonably instructed.

Requirements for the role:

  • University degree in a relevant field such as Finance, Engineering, Supply Chain, or related experience

  • Demonstrated experience in effective leadership, and ability to coach, develop and engage individuals and teams to instil a culture of accountability.

  • Demonstrated leadership of change projects and initiatives

  • Working knowledge of metal management and accounting principles

  • ERP knowledge and experience including inventory management experience

  • Flexible and proactive approach to solving problems and delivering timely results

  • Excellent IT literacy
