Summary of duties: At Outer Cape Health Services, it is our very basic

employ those who (1) always meet or exceed standards; and (2) care
enough to ensure that whatever they do, they do well. Under the
supervision of both Director of Clinical Applications and Director of
Behavioral Health or other assigned professional, assists behavioral
health and recovery service providers by performing a variety of duties
to support and support services for the health care providers, clinical
staff and patients to facilitate the delivery of health care. Essential
Functions Maintains patient confidentiality and observes HIPAA
regulations at all times. Provides support to behavioral health and
recovery services providers. Responds to patient and provider requests
within 48 hours utilizing the EMR Monitor work queue for behavioral
health and recovery referrals, assigning to associated staff Performs
brief triage/screening for patients seeking behavioral health services
and documents results in EMR Prepares and send patient letters as
requested by providers Prepares and tracks intake paperwork, ensuring
that all signed paperwork is scanned into EMR. Prepares prior
authorizations for behavioral health and documents in EMR Manages faxed
or mailed paperwork in a timely manner Prepares telephone encounters as
needed to providers or nurse Schedules patients for clinician-ordered
referral intake appointments. Obtains all PCP approvals as per clinical
staff requests as well as ensuring all other referrals are approved
prior to patient appointment. Tracks referrals placed for day treatment,
follows up with patients whose enrollment status changes per BSAS
regulations. Maintains documentation of all patient interactions.
Follows up on no-show appointments per Behavioral health clinical staff
request. Types, files and performs related clerical work as required or
assigned. Assists in maintaining statistical data as requested. Track
visits and authorization time limits in coordination with billing
department Greet, register and direct patients and visitors to the AIM
Wellness Center Make and answer telephone calls at the AIM Wellness
Center in a professional manner Conduct insurance eligibility and
verification; update Providers; utilize insurance web site and search
engines Ensure patient demographic and billing information is accurate
Report monies taken daily and report to Billing Department Monitoring
Patient Portal communication with patients Collect Co-pays and account
balances Additional Duties Books appointments for patients if needed.
Manage provider schedules as requested Other related duties and projects
as assigned. Core Competencies/Core Clinical Competencies Has excellent
communication and customer service skills Has excellent computer skills
Knowledge of insurance products Work environment: Some work may be done
from home after an initial training period May be required to lift small
loads. Must have the ability to travel to all sites as needed. What we
need from you: Required Qualifications, Education, and Experience
Medical terminology and computer experience required. Knowledge of EMR
and Microsoft Windows and Office products required. Experience in
problem resolution and prioritization required. Preferred
Qualifications, Education, and Experience Position requires High School
diploma or equivalent Strong organizational skills and the ability to
process a high volume of referral material in a timely manner required.
Basic insurance knowledge helpful. Position requires up to six months
office experience including extensive public contact, preferably in a
health care setting. Computer skills a must. PC Knowledge with Word &
Excel a must
