Scheduled hours: day shift plus some evenings and weekends.
Job Description:
Provides emotional/spiritual support to patients, families and clinical staff for Hospice House and Klein Center. Conducts spiritual assessment & provides appropriate spiritual/emotional support. Provides counseling for patients, families and staff. Facilitates crisis intervention. Provides bereavement care and support. Serves as patient advocate. Provides knowledge in advance directives. Conduct religious worship and perform other spiritual functions of various religious faiths or denominations. Provide spiritual and moral guidance and assistance to patients, families and staff.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree required
End of life spiritual care training and/or experience required
Has successfully completed 1 unit of CPE or currently enrolled through a nationally accredited program
3 years of service in providing spiritual care
Authorized to offer sacraments in one’s own tradition
Is ordained/licensed clergy in good standing within their own faith tradition
Maintains valid licensure/certification/registration
Capable of providing on-call coverage to assist with overall functioning of the department
Master of Divinity or equivalent preferred
Board or Associate Certified with either APC, NACC, or NAJC preferred
