Legrand has an exciting opportunity for aTax Analystto join theLegrand North America Teambased inWest Hartford, CT.This position has the flexibility to be either hybrid in West Hartford, CT or remote.
The individual in this role will work with, and learn from, the tax team in areas of income tax compliance, accounting for income taxes, and research. Responsibilities include federal, state, and international income tax compliance, accounting for income taxes, supporting tax audits and various projects.
As a Tax Analyst you will:
Timely complete and file federal, state, and international standalone tax returns utilizing Legrand tax packages
Timely complete and file consolidated/unitary federal and state tax returns
Calculate tax depreciation for assigned subsidiaries
Manage assigned subsidiaries throughout the year by communicating directly with their accounting teams
Prepare state income tax estimates & extensions
Manage state notices and audits for assigned subsidiaries with assistance from state team
Update compliance calendar monthly and ensures deadlines are met
Assist with, and manage, monthly provision related work
Maintain inventory of deferred tax items, and verify they tie to the G/L on a quarterly basis
Learn about and assist with Transfer Pricing
Qualifications
Education:
Bachelor's degree in Taxation or Accounting is required. A Master's Degree and or CPA is preferred.
Experience:
One to three years of experience in the field is required, preferably with some Big 4 or Regional Accounting Firm experience.
Skills/Knowledge/Abilities:
Strong Excel skills are imperative.
Requires strong organizational and time management skills with close attention to detail.
The ability to effectively handle multiple priorities and highly sensitive material is important.
Must be highly collaborative and able to work in a team-based environment, but also successful working independently.
Possess excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Experience with Thomson Reuter’s OneSource Tax Compliance Software is preferred.
