- Independently operating an SOS line with a thorough understanding
of all aspects of setup and machine operation
- Reads orders to determine appropriate materials and setup steps
- Demonstrates detailed knowledge of all SOS bag-making duties,
including but not limited to:
- Understanding the function of all buttons, controls, and
mechanical adjustments
- Complete understanding of the roll stands, lamination section,
slitter section, spot paste section, tube forming, cut-off,
scoring, opening, drum section, closing section, and delivery
section
- A thorough understanding of print cutoff marks, eye marks, and
print register marks and how each are used to fold and cut the
tubes properly
- An understanding of what could be considered bad print and the
procedures to follow when potentially bad print is identified
- Knowledge on how to fold all bag styles that can be made by
that SOS and check the folded bag against the order
specifications
- Knowing how to determine the appropriate stacking pattern for a
given bag size
- Knowing how to perform and with what frequency quality checks
must be performed to ensure consistent bag quality through the
order
- Effectively communicating with and delegating tasks to the SOS
Helper and Off-Bearer to achieve optimal team efficiency
- Safe, efficient change-overs with no damage to equipment
- Demonstrates a commitment to safety, product quality, waste control
and productivity
