CMTA is seeking an Electrical Engineer to join our team. This position will allow the individual to make important contributions to the CMTA team. The professional and technical requirements of this position involve exposure to a continuous array of opportunities which can contribute to the steady and consistent growth and success of both the individual and CMTA.
Responsibilities:
The Electrical Engineer will have continuous involvement throughout their career with building systems including electrical distribution emergency/standby power, interior and exterior lighting, code compliance surveys, fire alarm and life safety, communications, security, and energy conservation.
The Electrical Engineer will have general knowledge of preparing one-line diagrams.
Experience in preparing calculations for electrical loads and panel schedules.
The Electrical Engineer will have knowledge of NEC, NFPA 72, NFPA 101 and other codes and editing electrical specifications.
General knowledge of lighting, photometrics, lighting controls and understanding of emergency and normal power systems.
Experience in conductor sizing with applying voltage drop calculations.
Familiarity and demonstrated knowledge of ANSI/TIA and BICSI standards.
Experience in coordinating mechanical/Plumbing/Fire Protection equipment schedules and project management to include Construction Administration work such as answering RFI’s and reviewing submittals.
Ability to coordinate with other disciplines and architects.
Prepares relevant documentation to include meeting minutes, weekly status reports, and punch lists.
Experience with AutoCAD and Revit as well as Microsoft Office programs such as Excel, Word, and Outlook are required.
Requirements:
BS Architectural Engineering, or BS Electrical Engineering, or equivalent.
3+ years of experience in electrical design
Experience with AGI for lighting photometrics
Proficient with AutoCAD and experience with REVIT
Other Skills:
Knowledge of Electrical design and applicable codes.
Strong interpersonal and time management skills.
Self-motivation to coordinate with other disciplines and customers.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
