Description
Robert Half is seeking an RF Technician who will provide essential technical support for sophisticated communications systems and their applications. The role involves conducting routine preventive maintenance to ensure seamless system functionality, with a focus on analyzing trends and meticulously recording outcomes. The technician will engage in high-level problem-solving across various technology systems, including but not limited to RF, Microwave, and IT Systems such as: Legacy Analog Radio Systems, Advanced Digital P25 Systems, IT systems integrated with VMware and Cisco Networking.
Responsibilities:
Execute detailed troubleshooting of electronics influenced by software.
Manage the provisioning of communications system infrastructure.
Optimize the performance of diverse systems and ensure their reliable operation.
Participate in a rotational on-call schedule, involving 24/7 availability via pager during assigned weeks.
Respond to service calls at any time, including nights, requiring travel to sometimes remote locations.
A company vehicle will be provided for all travel requirements related to duties.
On-call service is required every two to three weeks, with compensation for pager duty and overtime.
Requirements
Qualifications & Education:
Minimum three years of experience with LMR/RF Systems or IT systems.
Two-year electronics degree is preferred but not mandatory; relevant experience (3-8 years) may substitute for formal education.
Technical proficiency in RF systems
Skilled in data collection and analysis, network performance monitoring, and utilization of specialized testing equipment.
Ability to regularly lift a minimum of 70 lbs.
Must possess a valid US Driver's license and meet driving requirements including passing a US driving test.
