Robert Half Accounts Payable Clerk in Westerville, Ohio

Description We are offering a contract to hire employment opportunity for an Accounts Payable Clerk in Westerville, Ohio. The role involves providing accounting support primarily in managing accounts payable. The successful candidate will work closely with our finance team and play a critical role in financial reporting and analysis, preparing sales and use tax returns, maintaining our database of current contracts, and handling company credit card expenses.

Responsibilities:

• Assist in researching budget variances for accounts payable processed expenses.

• Generate reports from accounting software to assist in financial reporting and analysis.

• Contribute to the preparation of the annual budget; track budget to actual variances and report to the responsible Manager.

• Prepare sales and use tax returns as well as commercial activity tax returns.

• Collaborate with leadership from various areas to maintain the database of current contracts.

• Provide other accounting support as determined by superiors.

• Perform accounts payable and accounting functions for affiliated companies.

• Responsible for company credit card expense coding and importing to finance software.

• Gather and audit receipts for company credit card expenses.

• Use Microsoft Excel and Sage MAS 90 for data entry and invoice processing. Requirements • Must have a minimum of 3 years experience as an Accounts Payable Clerk or in a similar role

• Proficient in account reconciliation and accounts payable (AP)

• Experience in check runs and coding invoices is essential

• Must have strong data entry skills

• Proficient in invoice processing

• Must have a strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel

• Experience in Sage MAS 90 is a strong advantage

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

• Strong organizational and multitasking abilities

• Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information

• High attention to detail and accuracy

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

• Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field is preferred.
