As a Actuator Design Engineer, you will work in PAPI P&P Solutions, Process Automation Process Industries (PAPI) in Westerville, Ohio, creating and evaluating the design of equipment, systems or installations, including specifications for manufacturing, fabrication or construction.
You will be focused primarily on hardware design, integration test and hardware installation of ABB Quality Control Actuator Systems in the Paper Industry. Other duties may include new product support and sales support. Must have a strong desire to learn and work with a team of engineers. Up to 50 percent travel. Geographic location of ABB Westerville, OH facility.

Your responsibilities
Sales Support: Collect information from ABB and competitive systems for upgrade and/or integration options
Provide hardware integration and design expertise during QCS (Quality Control System) Actuator order pursuit
Develop hardware lists for proposed Quality Control Actuator Systems
Planning and Schedule Management: Insure direct manager is current on all scheduled project activities
Develop Installation/Commissioning Plans for all projects when lead role is assigned
Manage Project Engineering team for site efforts when lead role is assigned
Support Project Manager with overall project plan
Knowledge of paper machine processes and application of ABB Actuator Systems
Project Execution: Review and Order (SAP) all hardware on logged project if assigned Lead
Create CAD (ProE/CREO designs for installation and documentation
Be able to work with both Customers and Contractors to Design, test and install ABB hardware
Manage hardware integration test of system during internal "One hundred Percent Test"
Support Factory Acceptance Test with Customer, if included in project
Provide feedback to Project Engineering team during design phase of projects
Work within team environment; Use of best engineering practices
Develop hardware and packaged specials to meet project scope
ABB internal and customer Training: Stay current on all issued ABB internal training and any project site specific training
Provide effective field OJT (On The Job Training) as needed, may include on new products
Installation Delivery: QCS product installation knowledge and documentation of commissioning
Capable troubleshooting diagnostic efforts both in house and onsite
Customer Satisfaction: Provide Technical lead of hardware project activities during the commissioning and start up, Insure Customer feedback is communicated to Project Manager

Your background
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering required, Mechanical preferred and 7 years related experience required
ProE/CREO CAD Skills preferred
Paper industry Experience a plus
Fluent in written and verbal English
Strong leadership and communications skills
Candidates must already have a work authorization that would permit them to work for ABB in the US
