JOB REQUIREMENTS: JOB ID: 21113 ATTENTION: The College of Business and
Economics at the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater seeks an Academic
Success Coach (Learning Center Specialist, AE163). JOB DETAILS: The
Academic Success Coach will provide curriculum-based academic support
for students enrolled in required quantitative business courses
(Accounting, Economics, Finance). Instruction may be provided
individually or within a group setting to assist learners with course
knowledge and understanding and strategies for overall success in the
business curriculum. This position will coordinate with course
instructors to determine desired content and approaches for tutoring.
The Academic Success Coach will recruit, train, and manage student peer
tutors. This position is a full-time, renewable, nine-month appointment.
The selected candidate must have the ability to adjust their work
schedule to offer tutoring until 6:00 or 7:00 pm three to four days of
the week. RESPONSIBILITIES: Provide tutoring/supplemental instruction
for students enrolled in core business courses in Accounting, Economics,
and Finance, regardless of course modality Improve student learning via
one-on-one, group, and peer mentor sessions Provide feedback to
encourage, motivate, and build confidence in students Coordinate with
course instructors to determine tutoring approaches, develop practice
problems/exams and understand how each instructor manages the course
topics Research and recommend supplementary teaching or training
materials to best meet student learning needs Support overall student
success in earning a business degree by identifying resources related to
time management, study skills, etc. Recruit, hire, train, and supervise
peer tutors and approve time sheets for all student employees Assist in
defining the objectives of the program and play a major role in carrying
out program duties Build meaningful relationships with and among
students, faculty, and staff to facilitate belongingness Lead
development of student culture that normalizes the use of tutoring and

QUALIFICATIONS: Minimum Qualifications: MBA or comparable graduate
business degree or graduate degree with experience in teaching
accounting, economics and finance Thorough knowledge of basic
