Auditorium ATTENTION: The Young Auditorium in the College of Arts and
Communication at the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater seeks an Event
Manager (Event Manager, DS025). JOB DETAILS: The Event Manager will
assist the Director of Young Auditorium in overseeing efficient
operation and effective utilization of the Young Auditorium facility to
insure the success of ongoing events and activities. Responsibilities
will focus on audience services and the entire area in front of the
stage including the Young Auditorium Chamber, Upper and Lower Lobbies,
Kachel Center and the Fern Young Terrace. RESPONSIBILITIES: 1. Plan,
help facilitate, and supervise all activities for upcoming events in the
Young Auditorium Chamber, Fern Young Terrace, Kachel Center, and Upper
and Lower Lobbies by scheduling appropriate personnel and providing for
all necessary physical arrangements, i.e. catering, set- ups, and take
downs, technical equipment, and assistance in event decorating. 2.
Recruit, schedule and train volunteers from the University and local
communities to assist in all facets of the operation. 3. Seek, direct,
train and supervise student staff in all areas of the \"front of house\"
with the focus on providing the tools for educational growth of student
level 1 ushers to level 3 house managers and management interns. 4.
Maintain a course of action of fire, tornado, bomb threat, and active
shooter procedures, and train co-workers, student staff, and volunteers
in emergency evacuation procedures through written policies, maps, and
on-site drills. Also, anticipate and prepare for possible incidents and
medical emergencies by scheduling student staff for and/or conducting
training sessions in this area. 5. Develop and Implement budgets,
determine expenditures, and generate revenue in the gift shop,
concessions, and front of house accounts. 6. Provide special services
for the hearing impaired, physically challenged, developmentally
disabled, economically distressed, senior citizens, and youth. 7.
Responsible for activities related to the use of the facility as an art
gallery, i.e. communicating with artists, overseeing maintenance and
repair of existing artwork, and inquiring about new pieces to be added
to the collection. 8. Coordinate and schedule lobby/terrace
entertainment for all events presented by Young Auditorium including,
but not limited to, live music, instrumental ensembles, pre-recorded,
music, etc. 9. Complete special projects related to the Young
Auditorium, Horizons, and Cultural Affairs programs as assigned. TO

-Bachelor\'s degree -1-2 years\' previous event coordination experience
