Howmet Aerospace Instrument Tech in Wichita Falls, Texas

JOB SUMMARY:

Schedule and perform calibrations of measuring and test equipment. Perform required maintenance and maintain records of all calibrations and repairs. Provide assistance and records for internal and external audits.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

As an Instrumentation Technician, the responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Schedule and perform monthly, bimonthly, quarterly, semiannual and annual calibrations on precision measuring instruments.

  • Surveys of equipment.

  • Maintain records of all calibrations and surveys per customer specifications.

  • Order, receive and test various instruments, spare components and maintenance of reusable components.

  • Maintenance of production equipment.

  • Clean, repair and maintain reusable components.

  • Maintain current inventory.

  • Maintain computer recall of calibration due dates.

  • Notify various departments of instruments that are due outside calibrations.

  • Prepare calibration standards for shipment to calibrating sources.

  • Advise, assist, build and research on developmental projects with engineers or supervisors.

Physical Demands:

  • Work requires moderate physical effort (lift 35).

  • Require (at times) work to be performed in a hot environment.

  • Work requires physical effort such as lifting, bending, standing, sitting, handling, reaching with hands and arms.

  • Must pass Jaeger I eye exam.

Work Environment:

  • Works in air conditioned area with times in hot areas of the plant.

  • Requires wearing safety glasses, ear plugs and Metatarsal Guard shoes.

  • Slight exposure to chemicals, fumes, oil, dust, noise and heat or cold.

Basic Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or GED from an accredited institution.

  • Minimum of 1-year of experience in industrial electronics, instrument calibration, or manufacturing and repair experience

  • Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Associate degree in technical field, such as electronics technology

  • Instrument calibration and repair experience.

  • Ability to read and understand electrical schematics

  • Fluency with Microsoft Office Suite (Access, Word, and Excel)
