This position provides administrative and clerical support in the
day-to-day operations of case, file, and document management. It also
provides administrative and clerical support to the Assistant County
Counselor handling Eminent Domain cases, gives support to the other
attorneys in the office as needed, and performs Deputy County Court
Clerk duties.
Case, File, and Document Management
- Prepare, review, and edit correspondence, court filings, exhibits,
and other documents as required.
- Prepare documents to process petitions for alteration of fire
district boundaries.
- Catalogue and Scan open records requests and responses.
- Copy and process reports and other routine documents as necessary.
- Assist in preparing documents for scanning and records storage.
- Assist in maintaining and updating the Lateral File Index
Administrative Support for Assistant County Counselors
- Create and Process Agenda Items as necessary.
- Sort and distribute mail, and maintain mail log as required.
- Track county resolutions, and maintain resolution spreadsheet.
- Review official county newspaper for resolution publications.
- Maintain and manage quarterly updates to County Code books and
Municode.
- Maintain Eminent Domain Case Files with current information.
- Maintain Adult Entertainment digital records with current
information.
- Track and process claims received from the Sedgwick County Adult
Detention Facility.
- Assist attorneys with document searches as requested.
- Notarize legal documents.
- Redact legal documents as necessary before filing.
- Bate stamp exhibits and other documents as required.
Perform County Court Duties as the Deputy County Court Clerk
- Assist with entering citations into Case Management System.
- Assist with training all new county citation writers on paperwork,
required evidence, and procedures related to the citation process.
- Prepare County Court KORA requests and discovery requests.
- Prepare County Court documents for scanning and storage.
- Monitor and respond to emails sent to the County Court Office email
- Fill in and performing the standard duties of the County Court Clerk
as needed.
Minimum Qualifications: High School Diploma or equivalent supplemented
by administrative and/or clerical/secretarial courses. Four years
experience in responsible secretarial work or any equivalent experience
which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities. A high
degree of confidentiality and professionalism is required.
