Purpose
The Production Manager will be responsible for managing and coordinating
all activities related to the manufacturing of products, ensuring that
production runs efficiently and on-time while maintaining the highest
level of quality. The Production Manager is responsible to plan,
organize and control operations to ensure that goods are produced
efficiently, within budgets and to standards. The Production Manager
will oversee daily production schedules and ensure that inventory levels
are managed properly.
Education and Experience
- Bachelor\'s degree in mechanical engineering or related field.
- 5+ years of experience in manufacturing or production management.
- Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes, materials, and
equipment.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Experience managing a team of production staff.
- Strong project management skills, with the ability to prioritize and
manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Knowledge of quality management systems, such as AS9100 or Six
Sigma, is a plus.
- Familiarity with ERP systems and production planning software is a
plus.
Supervisory Responsibilities
- Manage and coordinate all production activities in the manufacturing
facility, including scheduling, material procurement, and quality
control
- Manages Production Supervisors
- Handles discipline and termination of employees as needed an in
accordance with company policy
- Works with department leaders to monitor each department and make
recommendations to improve performance that impacts the organization
Position Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain production schedules to ensure that orders are
completed on-time and within budget
- Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and policies in the
production process
- Collaborate with engineering teams to optimize manufacturing
processes, improve product quality, and reduce production costs
- Monitor production performance metrics and implement continuous
improvement initiatives to increase efficiency and productivity
- Manage and develop production staff, including hiring, training, and
performance evaluation
- Maintain accurate production records, including inventory levels,
production output, and equipment maintenance schedules
- Manage relationships with suppliers and vendors to ensure timely
delivery of materials and equipment
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure the smooth operation of
the production process
- Represent the organization in external relations including
negations.
- Act as liaison between departments or other groups to improve
function, performance or communication.
- Review applicable organizational policies and procedures ensuring
accuracy and relevance, communicate said policies and procedures,
updating as necessary.
Tasks

- Determine the materials and human resources needed to meet
production targets
- Assign or delegate responsibilities to appointed managers.
- Analyze operations to evaluate performance of organization and staff
in meeting determined objectives or to determine areas of potential
cost reduction, program improvement or policy change.
- Direct, plan, or implement policies, objectives or activities of
organization to ensure continuing operations to maximize returns on
investment or increase producti vity.
- Prepare and manage production reports and budgets, estimate
production costs and implement cost control programs.
- Confer with organizational team members at all levels to discuss
issues, coordinate activities or resolve problems.
- Implement corrective actions to address organizational or
departmental issues.
- Establish departmental responsibilities and coordinate functions.
- Ensure efficient collaboration and coordination between relevant
departments including procurement, distribution and management.
- Coordinate the development or implementation of budgetary control
systems, recordkeeping systems or other administrative control
processes.
- Deliver speeches, write documents or present information at meetings
to promote organization, departmental tasks, exchange ideas or
accomplish objectives.
- Interpret and explain policies, rules, regulations and document poor
performance
- Monitor and review the performance of staff
- Implement and review standard operating procedures and ensure all
procedures are being followed.
- Implement and enforce quality control to detect and correct problems
- Act as liaison between organization and outside organizations.
