What you will do:
The material coordinator is responsible for shipping/receiving
activities, in-plant material movements, inventory storage bin
maintenance, periodic inventory audits, and related documentation. The
material coordinator will utilize the enterprise resource planning (ERP)
software to enter shipping/receiving transactions and inventory
adjustments. Many of the tasks require hands-on movement of materials.
How you will do it:
- Make shipping arrangements with qualified companies for production
and non-production items.
- Pack production and non-production items for shipping per best
practices and internal work instructions.
- Track shipments and provide reports as required.
- Receive and visually inspect materials.
- Assist with documentation and dispute resolution related to damaged
goods.
- Enter daily receiving and shipping transactions utilizing the ERP
system.
- Physically move materials to R&D, quality, and production locations
to meet the needs of internal customers. Coordinate assistance as
required.
- Establish bin locations and maintain bin accuracy for production
items.
- Coordinate the movement of items between the production inventory
and R&D projects. Ensure that allmovements/transactionsare properly
authorized and documented.
- Prepare excess / obsolete inventory for disposition.
- Perform inventory audits and enter inventory adjustments as
required.
- Participate in the effort to ensure smooth, controlled flow of
materials.
- Develop and maintain work instructions related to shipping,
receiving, inventory storage, and packaging tasks.
- Assist with continuous process improvements.
- Maintain a safe working environment and a commitment to safety
excellence.
- Maintain clean, organized shipping, receiving, and inventory areas.
- Ensure compliance with export regulations and prepare documentation
related to international shipments.
- Play a leading role in yearly physical inventory: develop count
sheets, form teams and monitor progress against internal goals and
deadlines.
