       POSITION DESCRIPTION:Food service Manager position available for the Summer Program. Develops and promotes good community relations among various community and school clientele.ESSENTIAL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  • Manages daily school food service operations

  • Supervises duties of cafe worker ensuring compliance with all policies and procedures and regulations.

  • Follows established guidelines, procedures, standards and regulations of the District, the National School Lunch/Breakfast Program and Department of Public Health.

  • Procures foods and related supplies and maintains inventory

  • Assists in the preparation and service of food. Preparing, cooking, serving and accounting for nutritious meals to students and staff.

  • Checks the quality and temperature of prepared foods before service.

  • Is familiar with food service computer functions.

  • Operates a variety of kitchen and office equipment

  • Communicates effectively in both verbal and written form.

  • Follows all HACCP Plan mandates including completing checklists and following standard operating procedures.

  • Performs related work as assigned or required.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High School Diploma or GED required.

  • One (2) year experience in Food Service required in either a school setting, high volume restaurant or institutional setting

  • ServSafe preferred

  • Bilingual (Spanish/English) preferred
